God, make strong the heart of all those who love our country, You gave us the freedoms our founding fathers laid down their lives to establish on this land; and gave them the intellect and words they put forth to preserve it with, based on the truth of your law in your word. I pray that your Holy Spirit that refreshes us and comforts us would be upon this friend and all those struggling with discouragement; and I ask that, like Elijah calmly reassured his servant, you would remind him: "Don't be afraid the prophet answered. Then Elijah prayed, 'Lord open his eyes.' And the servant looked and the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elijah." Amen. Peace be to you- our God still sits on the throne and he responds to our prayers. THis nation is his and we are his people. God loves us and he hears us.
