What? AK 47s are VERY legal in over 40 states, here in Florida there are probably over a million AKs in civilian hands

You may be thinking of Russian or Chinese AKs, which are banned from being imported into the USA....but as for the actual AK itself, there are thousands of manufacturers in other countries and right here in the USA that make and sell them

You are thinking of fully automatic AK47s (like used by Russian Army) That's the 1986 law and they have to be registered with tax stamp NFA.

Semi-Automatic AKs are legal and in common use, cost anywhere from $500-2500 depending on manufacturer

While true, did you see that video of a blacksmith making an AK47 out of a shovel. AK47 is well known because its an amazingly simple and durable design.

AR15 has a better intimidation factory tbh.
