I think Jesus was a pede... he spoke our language and we (as disciples) wouldn't have been offended by a little locker-room talk in order to get a good analogy/point across.

Actually I agree. I once went to a PCUSA sermon where the pastor bitched about that scene, saying he could have done something more productive than turn water into wine, and went off on a tangent about global warming and veganism somehow.
Yeah there are times in the bible where you're kinda surprised Jesus himself didn't say "oh for fucks sake..."

I stopped taking that denomination seriously.
