And they upgraded the charge to 2nd degree murder, making it harder to convict.
Also they are trying to charge the other officers with 'aiding and embedding' which is almost certain to fail since you have to "knowingly and willingly" aid in the crime.
Which means they will have to had helped the officer intentionally kill Floyd... which did not happen and theres almost no way to convict them on it with a jury or a judge.
The riots may have stopped but problems here in Philly haven't. Young white liberals have been protesting literally every day here in Center City with zero intentions of stopping, requiring large amounts of police protection and near daily violent police-protester clashes at these protests getting people riled up yet again every day about police brutality (some of which have made local news and had investigations opened).
And the police have shut down Center City Philly to cars literally all week, only letting residents past the barricades. Most stores are still shut down - there's been a fucking alarm at a gym a block away going off for two days now. My Rite Aid finally opened back up yesterday after being closed for days and still has the windows and doors completely boarded up. I guess I can check off "shopped at a fully boarded up store" to my bucket list? I went to the grocery store at 7 am this morning just to make sure I could actually buy food for the week.
Just because the riots are over, that doesn't mean insanity has stopped for those of us living in the middle of these blue hell holes. I feel like I'm living in some sort of post apocalyptic video game.
Edit: How can I forget our 6 and sometimes 8 pm curfews all week, to add to the insanity and make it harder for the few open businesses to stay alive (pizza anyone?).
A good ol mass shooting might be in the cards. Also the fall floods will be blamed on Trump. Hurricanes will be Trumps fault. And flu season, flus will be because of Trump. Forest floor fires, all Trumps fault too.
Food shortages. Or some kind of crazy disaster. The virus story was novel. Massive country wide riots is pretty new. Been a while since something like a chemical spill has happened.
My question is whether these idiots will realize they were used as a prop when the news literally starts ignoring them next week.
As they look around at the smouldering pile of shit their cities have become
Send in the UFOs🛸
Watch as those cops are released
This. Not a lawyer but those autopsy reports seem to leave enough room for a defense. Will not be surprised if he walks. All part of the plan

The DA is inflating charges to make them very difficult to win against and at the sane time letting out the violent rioters with no punishment.
