My really good friend is a coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and she can’t get barely any black men to step up and become a mentor, despite constant community outreach events.
Most of the kids in the program are black. Some have requested black mentors but they just don’t want to do it.
It’s still a major problem, despite how many pictures of black families you see.
That sucks, man. Need more people like Brandon Tatum. Correct me if I'm wrong but he genuinely does seem to care about the virtues of a nuclear family. He's spoke at length about how he idolizes hisfather for being there, through thick or thin.

You get more of what you fund. Fund poverty, more poverty. Fund food stamps, more people on food stamps. Simple feedback loop.
It's time to admit defeat and sue for peace in the war on poverty. Poverty won.
