The DC Guard is a whole different animal compared to the regular Nat Guard units.
They can be deployed anywhere in the US for whatever the President needs them to do.
They are pretty much Nat Guard in name only, and are equipped to handle all different kinds of issues that may arise. They maintain a larger standing group of full time soldiers that have additional training an expertise for specialized mission profiles.
I heard a statement from the CO, not sure his rank off the top of my head, and the guy sounded sharp as tack and ready for whatever was thrown at him, Tip Top McGoo.
Every federal agency has militarized units, and they all report directly to the president, and get this they ALL have jurisdiction anywhere they are sent.
Getting the media to pick a fight with the national guard may well have been pulling the wool over all of our eyes. He's had more than four days to get all the federal forces ready for action, while the media and dems went off about threats off military response.
Now, the question is, why do entities like the Department of Energy have SWAT-level teams? It’s almost like it gives the president access to dozens of federal incident response teams that aren’t accountable to the states might be really inconvenient for some people...
