Hey Pedes. Today has been tough.

I live in Philly and my liberal sister lives in Charlotte NC. We're white, and she's married to a black man and they have a daughter together.

She texted me this afternoon asking if I've seen videos of the philly police "brutally beating the protestors". I haven't seen the videos and told her so, but she didn't care, her ultimate goal was to use that text as a jumping off point to attack white people and make me feel guilty for being white....even though SHE'S WHITE TOO!!!!! After many texts back and forth of me trying to explain my point of view, she ends by encouraging me to think of my brother in law, her daughter (both black) and HER anytime I think of black people. I was left speachless. She used her husband and daughter in an attempt to race bait me into white guilt, while simultaneously putting herself up on a pedestal for marrying a black guy.

We've never talked in depth about politics before today. I feel like I lost my sister.
