I worked with a guy (white though) who did the same. He bragged about bitching to the Wendy's manager once because his kid didn't like the toy they gave out with a kid's meal. He claims to have gotten free meal coupons in return.

He also once complained to the organizer of a free Easter Egg hunt because there were too many kids older than his who were finding all the eggs. I remember him getting something out of it, but I don't remember exactly what. His name became a verb around the office.
