I do love football-- college. I used to love both but being a Jets fan just wasn't worth the emotional or financial commitment. That said, the cognitive disconnect with professional athletes, especially black ones is stunning. They play a children's game with the opportunity of generational wealth. They make so much that their minimum salary is 10 years of a teachers and nurses- and whole bunch of other professions.
Most star athletes have had people swinging off their nuts since they were in high school. There is or was, no oppression. If you have ever attended school with a gifted athlete, the last thing you would ever think about them is that they were oppressed (regardless of their race).
