"How can hiring more minorities into manager roles and C-suite positions address cop racism?"

Fucking ON POINT question.

"all this talk makes me feel like I am supposed to feel guilty of my skin color"

Hate speech will do that!

Lesson learned by the racist, fascist, cowardly, and above all sadistic vs. one color and masochistic towards other shades CEO?

He learns you can't have a struggle session if people can be anonymous, just like how, without secret ballots, votes aren't equal, and elections are just struggle sessions.

Critical Race Theory will destroy us all if we don't develop a vaccine and a CURE

Ryan Roslanksy, the CEO has the, solution: "LinkedIn won't enable anonymous questions in the future"

45
jaaardstyck 45 points ago +46 / -1

Well I mean yeah, we need to be able to fire people who make us think.

If you can still find it, take a look at the comment thread on LinkedIn of the Facebook kid that resigned. The comments are hilarious.

9
DaoDeDickinson 9 points ago +9 / -0

I think you have to have a LinkedIn account to see it?

9
Watermelons 9 points ago +9 / -0

Probably. Most people were calling the kid an idiot for bashing his former employer. The dude was 1 year out of school.

I am so sick of the state of black people being blamed on systemic racism. Income disparity between whites and blacks exists everywhere on the planet.

"Unfortunately, a small number of offensive comments reinforced the very hard work we still have to do," Roslansky wrote.

Translation: LinkedIn has more wrongthinkers to fire

27
upomit 27 points ago +27 / -0

True. I hope that the progams that were used are truly anonymous because I'm sure that they will try to trace those comments back to the employees.

27
Raindrops1984 27 points ago +27 / -0

I wish they would try to fire employees for saying that they don’t want to feel ashamed of their skin color. The payout will be massive.

2
AusLovesUSA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah sound's like a trap. Maybe not too fire them straight away but so management knows who the wrong thinkers are.

21
pede-o-saurus 21 points ago +21 / -0

Which is of course illegal in California, but it's California, so nothing will happen.

17
Dialectic 17 points ago +17 / -0

See, laws are meant to jail republicans. No one else.

78
slimcoat 78 points ago +78 / -0

Roslanksy said he couldn't see the comments while moderating the event because he was in presenter mode. He said LinkedIn won't enable anonymous questions in the future.

Sounds about right. Didn't like what was asked, so they'll just silence everybody. Right out of the leftist cultural Marxist playbook.

A lot of IT/Programmers/Engineers are very logical, rational, reasonable thinkers. They often times base their reality on logic, facts, and statistics - not emotions. All of this extreme leftists bullshit is going to piss a lot of people off.

An electrical engineer told me "The Science Is Settled" and did not know the PPM of CO2 in our atmosphere.

Book smart, real world idiot.

38
Elgordofordo86 38 points ago +38 / -0

That's been my biggest problem with these idiots! Science is and has never been settled! If you ever treat it like it is then you will stop all progress. Science is being turned into a religion. That's what you are seeing with the whole 'it's settled' people.

5
booldog 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ask them if we should stop public funding if it’s settled ;-)

2
DeplorableTech 2 points ago +2 / -0

I mean the science is settled. The world is flat. The sun rotates around the earth, disease is spread through smell, blood letting cures infection, hysteria in women is cured by doctor patient rape, frontal lobotomy cures depression, and penises need to be cut off all men to prevent rape.

11
MsAnthropic 11 points ago +12 / -1

Yep, exactly. I like to ask them if CO2 increases the earths temperature, is the effect linear or logarithmic? If they don’t know the answer to that question they need to stfu, it’s kinda important.

21
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 21 points ago +21 / -0

True, but there are also a lot of leftists who are logical thinkers and simply abandon that critical thinking when it comes to their ideology. I know many otherwise highly intelligent people who are leftists that become drooling morons incapable of argument when it comes to their ideology. Instead of using logic they use mental gymnastics to rationalize their views.

I think the most important quote from another article I found on this is from the CEO Ryan Roslansky:

"Roslansky acknowledged that allowing employees to share comments anonymously had been a mistake, and said the company would not allow this to happen again."

They will turn off the anonymous comments in future events because they want their bubble not to be burst by facts 😂

Any forum when the fear of reprisal is taken away inevitably becomes right wing.

Because when the weak willed don't have to fear the baton, or the accusations of racism, or the loss of their job, or the mob descending upon them. They will tell you the truth.

That racism is relegated to a number of pockets in this country. That everything you propose is dumb and that we should instead focus on the PROBLEM. Police brutality is a measurable statistic that can be targeted and analysed and impacted with policy change.

Racism is a ghost.

I never trust any "anonymous" feedback requests in the corporate world. They are always embedded with hidden tracking.

24
residue69 24 points ago +25 / -1

I hope these red pilled employees didn't use their work laptop, VPN, etc. to attend this "anonymous" town hall. I suspect there will be a lot of job openings at LinkedIn come Monday morning.

I do not feel safe working at this company in a place where I was already uncomfortable with the treatment I’ve received on my OWN team since I started,” wrote one employee. “This is so sad.”

“There are some extremely offensive comments here that go completely against the spirit of what this is intended for,” another added. “I am COMPLETELY shocked by some of these racist comments from my fellow employees. I am thoroughly disgusted!”

“The racism at LinkedIn really came out in the Q&A section!” a third staffer quipped.

The H1Bs in LinkedIn tech support won't hesitate to use every tool available to unmask the offending employees and replace them with "POC".

7
BigDealDaddy 7 points ago +7 / -0

It’s more likely that POC engineers are making the comments.

LinkedIn is a spam toilet. I have 6 fake accounts there.

"Inebriated-you appeared in 3 searches this week!"

18
qnyc1234 18 points ago +18 / -0

Omg we had one of these town halls as well. I work for a Fortune 500 company. Some of the questions our diversity officer (stupid ass job) received:

  • Why do we still allow white supremacist organizations to use our networks?
  • How do we expect black talent to stay if we inherently send the message that they won’t get far - based on the lack of diversity at VP to Board level? (Our CEO is an immigrant, most of the C-levels are as well FYI)
  • What has the company done to check in on our black colleagues who have had an especially challenging week, to ensure their physical and mental well being? (What about my well-being, having to listen to all your bullshit?)
  • Should we acknowledge as a company that we have an inclusion problem? (Our CEO stresses the importance of welcoming all types of people and encourages diversity. The majority of people I work with are immigrants. Very international company)

Femprep 10 points ago +10 / -0

An 'inclusion' problem. It's a job it's not high school. Grow up people. These people are so emotionally stunted and inept it's mind boggling.

Why on earth would I have a LinkedIn. The only people on LinkedIn are losers looking for jobs or losers looking to show off their accomplishments (while also looking for jobs) like anyone actually cares. I'm pretty well known in my industry. If you want to speak to me, it's not very difficult for you to call my office and get a hold of me. If I want to speak to someone, I don't hunt them down on LinkedIn, I either physically call someone else in my industry to try to put me in contact with them, or I contact them myself with an email or telephone call.

People only care about one thing: money. Start with a proposal to make both sides money and you're already on the right track. Unfortunately 99.9% of people on LinkedIn are just losers looking for a job to make themselves more money, while completely ignoring the basic tenant of contracts: contracts just be mutually beneficial. Instead It's just people saying please give me money because I have a degree and I worked at all these places, and the money better be more than the most recent place.

If you truly bring something to the table, you would be poached, acquihired, or otherwise approached independently.

Networking. Such a bullshit concept. Just a bunch of losers looking for winners but only finding more losers.

You make contacts in the field. Want to stay in touch? Set up a Calendar with all the important dates: birthdays and anniversaries. You can automate this so it sends them an email wishing them the best. Ask them how they're doing randomly. Say please and thank you. If they help you with something, send them a thank you note or a random token gift.

Rhetorical questions are racist. They require too much brain power to process.

7
Crockett 7 points ago +7 / -0

I was part of something like this a few years ago.

The company I worked at got called out by woke Twitter for some stupid bullshit, and our company called a special voluntary meeting to talk about it.

Lots of people spouted social justice word salad to approving nods. I raised my hand and said that we probably shouldn't freak out over some people whining on Twitter. The company's (excessively millennial) social media manager defensively assured me that the people complaining were totally credible and important.

The meeting went on and it was fine. I'd said my piece, other people said theirs, and the decision makers would go on to make their decisions.

Later, during a different meeting, the head of Inclusion and Diversity informed me that that meeting was widely considered to be a complete disaster. I was too stunned to ask for clarification. My only guess is that they were offended that there was any level of dissent about the seriousness of the problem. The rest of the meeting was totally on board with a social justice narrative, and it was organized and civil. But I questioned the relevance of Twitter, so "disaster."

Gem from the CNet comments section:

I'm neither left or right, but I've got to say, when the right doesn't agree with something they thing you're wrong. When the left doesn't agree with something, they think you're evil and must be destroyed by any means necessary.

Disregarding the 10% of twatters, 40% of liberals are afraid of being called racist. Even those 10% are but they go overboard and in their overcompennnenasation (I don't know the spelling) talk too much about it.
