I don't think this is cybersquatting, though. Cybersquatting involves squatting on a domain name that involves a trademark. Buying and selling domain names that aren't trademarked in any way is pretty routine.

Them picking a legal battle only a few months out from the general would be wasting time they don’t have. Plus (assuming there are a few big media outlets that are willing to be honest and neutral - which seems to be an enormous assumption today) it would be terrible optics to show them bearing up on a guy who offered to sell.
