There are dozens and dozens of these that will resurface. Joe was just about the worst choice they could have made.
Especially in light of recent events. The undisciplined animal comes out when the door is ever-so-slightly cracked open.
This is why Democrats were still electable at the time. Republicans of today will be the Democrats of tomorrow. It's only a matter of time. For now, the Republicans are the good cop. Still a cop and we're all headed for the Antichrist Prison.
I wish you weren't right. People talk about the slippy slope, if you give them an inch then they are taking a mile, but it isn't that complicated. I am far more optimistic than you (that's not saying much admittedly) but I don't care if everything heads south tomorrow and Big Mike is installed as Dictator (more like Dicktater amirite?) after supper, I will not go gentle into that good night. You can take that to the bank.
Unplug for a while and make connections with people that bring a positive influence into your life. Don't have those? Not your fault, plenty of people just like you are in the same boat, watch stand up comedy, funny movie/show, whatever generally has made you happy in the past.
Take care of yourself and don't let this stuff get to you too much. Assuming you have that luxury and aren't dealing with rioters on the reg.
