Buddy of mine works in barbasol factory. He told me after the Gillett ad they were busier then shit. They all laughed about it too. That was just 1 factory location.
Agreed. I was optimistic when I first started seeing conservative youtube channels advertising DSC. my first visit to their website absolutely disgusted me. I never bought from them. Blatantly obvious lefties.
On saving money ... I have a 23 year old pair of clippers... I "shave" down to a 5 o clock shadow. repeat every couple months. I'm so fucking lazy and uncouth it's insane lol but somehow I get away with it. I'm never, ever clean shaven.
I cancelled too! Barbasol has always been dear to me anyways. I told DSC I was tired of white leftists starting race wars in order to get career politicians elected...a little fearful since they have my account info. But that’s a lawsuit waitin to happen no?
How confident are you that barbasol isn’t SJW? Pretty much every single major company is.
I’m asking for reals. I had bought a BUNCH of gillete razors just before their shit commercial. I’m not just throwing them away, but I’ll need a new razor soon.
This is the way I tell everyone to shave when the subject comes up and this is the way I will teach my kids to shave. The handle for the blade is $20, but you can buy a 100 pack of blades for like $10. It absolutely blows me away people spend upwards of $30 a month shaving, even using the same razor blade for many shave sessions, when I use a fresh blade each shave because they are so cheap. I never had a smoother and cleaner face, and I never spent less money on shaving.
I would never go back to those Gillette or whatever other brand makes those plastic razor blades. They are expensive and they suck. Learn to use a safety razor, and never look back. There’s a reason your great grandfather, grandfather, and father all used these blades their whole lives. $20 may seem expensive up front, but you will use it until the day you die.
I like to use the analogy it’s just like comparing an inkjet printer vs a laser printer. The inkjet is cheap but you will constantly be raped by ink prices. The laser one is more expensive up front but much, much cheaper per page printed.
Of course not many people print stuff so they have no need for an expensive printer and just get the inkjet and use it a few times a year, but with a razer it’s different because nearly everyone out there shaves multiple times a week, both men and women, so it makes sense to invest in something you literally use all the time for decades.
They get more dull after each use, I have no idea how a disposable lasts you months. My facial hair comes in thick so my blades get ruined quick and since a blade costs me like 10 cents it doesnt matter to use a new one each time.
Dude idk how. I have a harry’s razor that’s been on the same cartridge for almost 2 months. Facial exfoliator first then it’s usually a smooth shave, even with a used razor.
I guess I don’t have a job where I have to be clean shaven all the time so maybe that helps? Still weird to be spending a shitload of money of razors of all things
If you like a super close shave with minimal fuss for very little money, I can confirm that nothing beats a double-edged safety razor. A decent properly-weighted handle is maybe $30 tops and you can splurge on super high quality blades. There are several variety packs on Amazon you can use to get a feel for what brands and types of blades work best for you. When used correctly with fresh quality blades you will not get razor burn. In quantity the blades are so cheap you can use a new one ever few shaves and not even care.
However... on a total whim I picked up one of the Philips Norelco OneBlade face + body starter packs. Wife likes it because the cut hairs are less sharp when they start growing back and I like it because it's plenty close for me and I get zero razor burn ever. More expensive, but it's a solid product. Still cheaper in the long run than Gillette for sure.
I bought a Merkur (German) double-sided safety razor a long time ago and it gives me a great shave every time, and now there's American companies making safety razors again. I'd recommend Battle Brothers (USA) or Feather (Japan). Throw that dull disposable gillette/dsc garbage in the trash where it belongs.
If you go for a shave brush, I suggest getting a synthetic brush unless you want to deal with the bad smell of a natural brush for a month until it's conditioned.
Dam, I joined dollar shave club to get away from cucked Gillette. Does anyone have a recommendation so that I can ditch dollar shave?
Barbasol
Did this a year ago. Never looked back.
Dollar Shave Club has been lefty for years. Anybody who switched to them from Gillette simply didn't do their research.
The best way to go IMO is Barbasol shaving cream and double-edged razors. Way cheaper and there's no way they'll donate millions to lefty causes.

why?
Are they like non political who owns them?
Seconded. I joined after gillette got cucked.
Thirded. Started using Barbasol the day after that Gillette commercial. Never liked DSC, their website is wonky and I don't need "asswipes".
Buy a double edge safety razor and shave soap. Itll save you thousands of dollars and give you a better shave.

This one here, you‘ll hate your former self for buying into the cartridge crap for that long
Can you recommend one?
Just made the move.

They're an american & christian company, basically the Chickfila of shaving products
Except chik-fil-a folded to the militant LGBTQWERTY agenda...but I get your point
Subscription based?
Edit - y'all right just buy it when you need it!
Grow a beard, it's free.
Or look into a double edged safety razor, you can buy blades from any number of companies, including ones from Japan or Europe.
You won't be fucked by the Injet Printer model of "Here's the handle for free, let me sell you the blades for 600% markup!"

100%. It truly is the best way to shave and also happens to be exponentially more economical as well

I just get a bag of disposable razors including the handles for like $12, one of them will last months if you clean it and don't let it rust.
Did I miss a memo where I should be tossing them after one use or something? How do people spend so much on shaving?
This is long before I started growing my beard out, too. Beards are alpha as hell.

Agreed. I like maggard razors.
Got a website where you can buy this?
To be honest I just bought mine at Walmart.

Can confirm. 100 Shark blades for $7
I got a handle that was a blem from maggard razors for $10, and I order blades that are $15-20 for 100 on amazon.
Edwin jagger razor and feather blades for me. Taylor of old bond street sandalwood shaving cream and a badger brush. Gives a magnificent shave.
I use feather as well. People starting should get 3-4 brands to try out and pick the one that works best for them based on their hair/face.
Funny enough, the razor model is what that's called in economics. Gillette basically founded that as an economic model.

CornPop suggests a straight razor, just make sure you bang it against the curb first.
He's a bad dude
Then dunk it in the rain barrels
Dollar Tree. 10 razor's for a buck
Buy a double edge safety razor and shave soap. Itll save you thousands of dollars and give you a better shave.
Get a double edge razor and Cremo shaving cream.
You'll spend less in several years than what you used to spend on Mach3's/shaving gel in an entire month.
