I've successfully avoided buying any Procter and Gamble products since the Gillette ads. It's not that hard if you're aware of what their brands are.

The only downside so far is the kind of deodorant I use now isn't as good

I’ve been using Right Guard since high school. They used to be owned by Gillette but now are owned by some German company. I would rather support an American company but hygiene is important to me and this is the best I could find.

We will soon have nothing left with which to shave.

Double-edged safety razor shaving

A good safety razor will cost $30-60

I currently use Derby Extra Double Razor Blades, 200 Count - $13

Add some soap and you can shave for a year for under $100

No, I'm a dude.

Men invented lasers and you could put all that shaving time into fighting Democrat communism. 👌

Buy a safety razor and go old school. Plus blades are like a nickel. It'll save you bank in the long run.

I can highly recommend everyone to use a safety razor as well. I used to buy Gillette, but damn they are incredibly expensive. I stopped using them a long time before this Gillette 'best a mam can get' incident. I'm buying razor blades in packs of 100 which I can get for (top of my head) 15 euro. Those Gillette blades where like 15 euro for 5 blades. Go old school if you haven't yet. Safety razors are cheap, and as a bonus, they make you cool like a ww2 soldier.

Dollar Shave Club gets their blades from Dorco. Here's a link:

https://www.amazon.com/Dorco-System-Trimmer-Refill-Handle/dp/B00MYC4PYY

Those will fit on DSC razors. Much cheaper than using DSCs stupid auto-delivery service.

Thank you! At least the handle wont go to waste and it gives me an alternative since I cancelled DSC!

You are the man! Thank you

I buy women's disposables at the dollar store. Men's disposables are never sharp, but the manufactures are smart enough to not piss-off the ladies!

Good point! I always thought they were the same, but just a different color for marketing purposes.

Glad you took a stand.

Where was their post/message?

Have you used these from an order this year?

A lot of the reviews are saying they are shit now.

Lady-pede here, been using mens razors (DSC) for a while due to price, but now looking to switch away.

A lot of the reviews are saying the blades are closer together than they were in 2019, and a bunch of other issues, like handle not ejecting them.

1
probablyacoincidence [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have, only issue is my handle brake. The spring in the neck got messed up and I had to order a new one. They were bought out a little ways back so I'm not surprised they went from their original quality to something cheaper. Sucks when it happens to a good product

Hey, mods, how about a subforum where we can track the number of cancellations we are able achieve? Tracking numbers/positive feedback would probably allow us to achieve higher numbers in the future.

Try these guys for companies with good or bad conservative ratings.

Went DE shaving after Gillette's nonsense - had been a mach 3 shaver for decades.

No more - go to amazon - buy some feather blades and a DE shaver and a brush Merkur's are good, stay away from Vikings blade which is shoddy re-branded chinese stuff, although i do like their brush designs. Though that usually means buying off of Amazon which is all in on BLM too.

50 feather blades (which last me about 2-4 shaves) ran $50.

FancyBeerCoozyBeer 1 point ago +1 / -0

I got a variety pack of blades. I have no idea what I'm supporting, but they're only getting ~5 cents a pop. Mostly Russian, EU brands and some Egyptian. I would change it every shave but I like the second use the most. Researching this stuff takes enough time, that it probably makes sense to save the effort for larger purchases. Better yet, avoid larger purchases altogether, like those $3 cartridges. Fewer blades running over your face and it getting clogged less is great too. I'd probably get feather blades but I have a year's worth of razors to burn through.

Cancelled my DSC sub today with this message ‘I prefer not to have my dollars go to a mafia type organization or the DNC. I subscribed to get politics out of my products so now I will be looking elsewhere.’

1
probablyacoincidence [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Also, I got an email from them, stating they were reviewing all of their relationships with vendors partners suppliers etc, to make sure they were no longer doing business with "anyone who falls on the wrong side of the issue" take that for what you will.

1
Kiras 1 point ago +1 / -0

That alone is making me cancel.

1
FudgyFudgeBots 1 point ago +1 / -0

We need to do more of this. We have been financing our own demise because we are spoiled.

1
Kiras 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is disappointing. I've been a DSC member for, I think, almost 10 years. Even introduced them to people I know. I even found their bathroom minutes funny! But I can't support them based on how they are virtue signally AND refusing to do business with others who don't virtue signal with them?
