Yup, was about 2 months back. We had someone make an app, and they had it removed from the store. I don't have the link but I remember it because it was a massive honk.

They can just host the apk on the same servers they use to host this website and give a direct download link. You don't actually have to go through the app stores at all.
Push notifications, ease of use features such as being able to collapse a comment string without having to zoom in and tap that tiny little grey vertical line, full screen in-app typing windows for comments and submissions, not having to have the full web browser running and taking up RAM just to run TDW. The same reasons why people like/ed to use reddit apps like Boost instead of going to reddit on a mobile browser. Dedicated apps designed specifically for phones are pretty much always better than web pages when viewed on a mobile device.
Why would it be a pain in the ass? Host the apk on the server, put a download link on TDW to the apk. Hell, Pornhub has an app that they have hosted on their own page, not view the app stores. If they can get it to work, there's no reason we can't.
Just add the page to your home screen - I’m on an iPhone and that works perfectly.
