Considering Blacks didn't develop a written language of their own and most nations prohibited literacy among enslaved Black people, I wouldn't expect nearly as many books to have been written by Blacks when compared to authors of other races. Also, literacy in the western world has led other civilizations by far which fed the demand for greater publishing. It would be expected that a comprehensive bookshelf would be dominated by white authors.
