What was lost through BLM's little temper tantrum over the last few days was a real chance to reform policing practices. Fuck BLM. And fuck the corporations who support this garbage movement.
Scott Adams went off on that on Sunday. He spoke about the business ideal of not speaking after you make the sale. Logic being: You made the sale. There's no reason to push. If you push after you made the sale, you can only make things worse by making the client back out because you made him uncomfortable.
He then goes on to say that BLM made the sale, but was pushing past it, and he would lose all sympathy if the rioting lasted another night.
That was last Sunday, I think. Almost a week ago...
IMO, they could have gotten it done after Ferguson had BLM not been so set on their narrative. People in general were appalled at the over the top, militarized police response; even those who are against rioting and looting.
There's really not a lot to reform. This kind of thing is extremely rare.
It's a mistake to argue for a false alternative.
The real problem in this case was the cops at the scene. Though the situation is grossly exaggerated and not as bad as it looked. Remember, George Floyd died from a drug overdose in the end.
If there's any further fault then it's local. The police are operated by and run by the city which is a democrat city.
