If they want collective ownership, they can start their own businesses. To have collective ownership just to have it, is to take something from someone else. That "mere access" they're trying to make sound like nothing or oppresive, is what allows them to buy the food they need to live, the clothes they need to cover themselves, and more.
Community control of law is basically subversion of government power. Who gives power to the government? Voters, with their votes. This is not a democracy, and it's damn sure not a segmented democracy where they can create their own little bubble of laws like they're on reservation land. If they want to be on a reservation, they can go to Africa to do it.
Independent political power based on race? Sounds pretty damn racist to me. If whites demanded that they have independent power, people would be outraged. Reparations? Yeah right. The vast majority of white Americans don't even have slave owner ancestors. Less than 5% of whites in America can have their ancestry traced back to slave owners. And the notion of making a great great grand kid pay for something that happened nearly 200 years ago, is even more preposterous, let alone someone elses kid that came to America 100 years after slavery ended. And what about all those white slaves in the US? There were plenty of them. There are also plenty of blacks that have no ancestry to slavery at all, both because their families were never slaves in America, even during times of slavery, and also because tons of blacks have come to the US since slavery ended. And these people certainly weren't slaves. Their momma wasn't a slave. Their grand daddy wasn't a slave. Hell, even their great grand daddy wasn't a slave.
The hundreds of thousands of dead whites from the civil war, is reparations. Blacks didn't break free, they were set free. Something black power blacks seem to conveniently ignore because it doesn't make them feel as powerful as they want. They're soo bitter and out of touch, they can't even give credit to the people who died freeing them.

Many see themselves as a separate nation. Black kids get beaten up for acting white, or having white names, or listening to white music. I read those demands as if they want the US taxpayer to fund their succession from the traditional form of government in this country so they can make their own and operate it with no intervention from Uncle Sam. It would almost be worth it to give in to these demands under the condition that there would be no further "reparations or monies of any kind" given to them and then watch their new government implode as soon as it runs out of money due to rampant theft by their leaders.

I always wonder about this, too. How do they “prove” they are actual descendants of slaves? What if their black ancestors were never here in the Americas - like Barack Obama, for instance. Or came well after slavery was abolished?
My ancestors also had absolute zero involvement in slavery - except for the Quakers on my Mom’s side who immigrated from Europe to New England and, true to their beliefs, condemned slavery and preached against it and most probably helped slaves escape any way they could. My Dad’s people were too busy working to death in the coal mines of Ireland to get to think a lot about slavery in America. He was the first of his family to ever come to America, and that was in the 1960s.

being a first generation american, i always bring this up when discussing race relations and so forth. my parents, my heritage, came from the poorest of poor in sothern Italy/sicily. im talking peasantry, like 9 kids in a 700sqft apartment, roaming the streets of naples for food/work. they came here with less than nothing, but made a great living through hard work, gave me "privledge" that they never had, because this great country gave them the opportunity to do so. my father went from sweeping floors to owning 40+ restaurants and businessses since coming here in the 70's. so i always ask, why on earth should i pay "repararations" for something my family has no history with? the moors held sicily for a time,maybe i should demand reparations from muslims?
