If someone is still supporting Blizzard by purchasing their products and subscriptions after all the Leftist cuck bullshit they've pulled in the past few years, they have no one to blame but themselves. It is bullshit they did this to him, but he should have expected it.
I’m an IT Director for a financial advisor firm. I sit in my office and play MMOs while making 6 figures. Don’t let people convince you that you’re a loser because they don’t understand something you love to do.
Seriously. I used to work 60 hour weeks at my Nursery, was bringing home possibly hundreds of dollars a day depending on the season, and at night I'd lead WoW raids (My guild's first one-night full Karazhan clear! I was in charge of "the B-Team" that night, all the guys who didn't fit into the perfect raid comp, or who had less than stellar gear levels! I TAUGHT THEM HOW TO WIN!)
Playing videogames doesn't make you a fucking loser. Not knowing how to do anything BUT play videogames makes you a fucking loser. If you can keep it as a hobby, and not the driving force of your life, some of them are pretty darn great.
Of course, try not to support the companies that kowtow to the left. Give your money to companies that make quality games and at least know well enough to keep their mouths shut, if not being straight up traditionalists (Nintendo of Japan, thank you for all you do.)
edit: heres my point, downvoters --- so much grief for gamers, as if gamers can't be productive if they game. But think of all the people who watch TV til they rot, and still hold down a job and be productive.
so IMO gamers do not deserve to be shit on when everybody has lesiure time activities. Singling out gamers for being idle too much is total hypocritical bullshit. Some people watch TV and movies in their free time. Some people play music. Some people get drunk and play cards. What the heck does it matter? Theres nothing WORSE about games than any other pointless lesiure activity.
Gamers deserve to be shit on if it's an addiction that's affecting their health, just the same as smoking and drinking. And as far as addictions go, gaming isn't significantly worse than others; with ample exercise and a healthy diet, the individual in question isn't likely to suffer serious consequences outside mental dependencies.
To bounce off u/rooftoptendie: If it's a leisure activity, then live and let live. If you truly believe in personal freedoms and responsibilities, as a constitutionalist, then you're going to be quite happy to encourage people to do things that make them happy. Anti-gaming attitudes in this thread without the associated attitudes against other addictive (and destructive) behaviors isn't simply shallow; it's intellectually dishonest. But, there's a lot of faux-alpha-males on the Internet who probably lead miserable lives and expand that misery into their online persona.
It's also interesting that they're complaining about leftists while espousing what ultimately boils down to authoritative views while using the exact same pigeon-holing identity politics.
My philosophy is that if it's not an addiction and it's a leisure activity, who gives a shit?
But think of all the people who watch TV til they rot, and still hold down a job and be productive.
If the goal of your life is to merely hold down a job and be productive, go for it. Some people want more. Some people want to build skyscraper hotels and become the president. An mmo would kill that.
I can't find any games that keep my attention anymore.
I've used them as a release for years, but there is nothing new that seems interesting to me, possibly because of how bad the reward loops are and how my brain rejects the reward for such a simple task.
Things like br are you against the world, drug (adrenaline) fixes. They lower your stress tolerance and make you more likely to be depressed and irritate in real life interaction.
Things like mobas are toxic, throw 5 people in and delegate tasks to them, when they have their own goals that you never know about.
Mmos are designed to keep you paying for a subscription as long as possible, treasure hunts where the treasure is never quite good enough, and you have to pay for another week for another chance at better treasure.
If you're gonna play a video game you're best off playing a story based game with problem solving that you pay for once and don't expect to play 500 sessions of the same activity. Some have cooperative modes to play with your friends, most don't. Those one's don't try to hook you. They present you with what you paid for and say "have fun, see you again in a few years for the sequel"
Lots of games focus on the peer group to keep people playing. It's easy when all your friends are playing the same game(s), and you've all got fewer responsibilities in your 20s. So you play games together.
As you get older and accumulate more responsibilities, you have less time for leisure activities. Same for your friends. Consequently, you spend less time in those activities.
I used to play games quite a bit with my friends (including WoW), but I find it's difficult to maintain interest with much else besides maybe Minecraft literally once or twice a year (I run my own server). But I also have quite a few open source projects I'm maintaining and reestablished some other hobbies (writing, music, etc).
Check out Star Citizen. It's an in development title but is easily the most innovative and interesting game being made. It's pretty mind blowing what they have been able to achieve thus far. Keep in mind when they say alpha they really mean alpha. They are still developing the core technology and mechanics required. The player base skews older and as a result has some fantastic orgs to join.
Game hasn't been in development as long as you think but yeah its gonna be in alpha until all the core systems and features are built. Thats kinda how software development works. They are quite transparent about there development process and what they are currently working on. They are also building two games at the same time with priority going to the single player game Squadron 42 which will likely go into private beta end of the year and see a release sometime next year which would allow more resources to go to Star Citizen.
This was one of the reason the lockdowns were inadvertently doing good for humanity. It gave us pause to remember what's relevant. God is relevant video games arent. Video games have no return on investment they are time sinks. Your van building is giving your a new purpose in life. My Gun that I bought is giving me a new purpose as a hunter.
I don’t sell them. I just buy them to fix them then I donate them. It’s a personal growth thing but I always have whatever bikes I need.
I could, but I don’t think there’s a ton of money in bikes unless you know exactly what model it is and it’s demand. Personally I think there could be money in doing e bike conversions but I’m not there yet. I’ve done motorbike kits and that is so rewarding and fun.
Your idea is good. I’d just buy broken or free stuff and start working on something (mower/washer dryer etc) Like ac units or air purifiers. Anything you think you can make a buck with or would be interesting to learn.
Just do not spend a lot of money on learning. Spend some sure but keep it cheap until you are confident. Nothing says I’m an asshole that can’t get a to b than a bunch of expensive half finished projects. Keep it lean and work quickly to wrap up all your projects in a timely manner.
Video games are know to tell deep stories, and touch on points that normally don't get talked about in most movies/books. A good story can make you grow, either spiritually or emotional. Being a cinderblock isn't something I look forward to.
What's your obsession with non-fiction? There are other bodies of literature that are just as compelling, important, and rewarding.
Historical works like the Iliad and other bodies of Greek mythology are both exciting and have significant influence on other pieces of literature throughout history. Outside a small kernel of truth, most of the events in these texts never happened.
I enjoy reading scientific papers in the fields of cosmology and medicine because I'm a bit touched in the head, but I'm not about to start making half a dozen posts imploring others to read them because of some narcissistic need to self-fellate my own ego.
People have varying interests. This is a good thing, because life would otherwise be quite boring.
Yoooo I got an old ass beater SUV I've been wanting to turn into a bugout vehicle. Any advice on getting started? I was thinking about adding some blackout blinds, removing the middle and back seats, and putting in some kind of box springs.
Everything I looked at, it just kinda seemed like normal camping stuff just moved to a vehicle. I don't need a stove of microwave when I have a regular camping stove. Just a place to sleep without being seen, and maybe a solar power port or something. Any other ideas?
Just start off by gutting it and just sit in there for a few minutes with a nice cold beer and let your imagination go wild.
You’ll probably need a folding shelf and ventilation if you wanna cook in there.
The biggest thing is deciding which bed you want and building around it’s dimensions. I like roll up foam mats because then I have floor space to sit and hangout with people.
This next van I’m gonna have a raised bed with a slide out table underneath so we can cook under our tarp awning in the back.
Just start ripping shit out and making progress. Once you are over the fear and information hump conversions are great projects and honestly pretty cheap.
February last year I demanded my account be permanently deleted, all those address histories, everything, I wanted permanently removed from their company. They complied. All I wanted was a refund on BO4 after playing it for 1 hour. Told them Blizzard and Act is dead to me forever. They have been increasingly terrible since.
I thought you were joking but you can't make this shit up... he owns $65 million in shares, starting from back in 2016, but almost doubling it March 31st.
I found that out a few days ago when they shoved BLM into their game and forced you to read that propaganda on each loading screen. Uninstalled and will never play an Activision or Blizzard game again.
A statement by J Allen Brack, President of Blizzard Entertainment, after their controversial censoring of Hong Kong protestors:
One of our goals at Blizzard is to make sure that every player, everywhere in the world, regardless of political views, religious beliefs, race, gender, or any other consideration always feels safe and welcome both competing in and playing our games.
This used to be online gaming and the Internet in general: shenanigans. Now it is so serious with streaming, esports, becoming pro, etc, and now in-game protests that cannot be disrupted under threat of account loss. If it's not fun, why bother?
Functioning as intended. Without anonymity, everything you post can be vetted by future employers, love interests, etc., which allows cancel culture to punish wrongthink.
Maybe, maybe not. I think he's upset that it sounds like MGTOW is leaking.
While I understand the sentiments (having endured a really awful breakup recently, discovering I was subjected to branch-swinging, and noping the fuck out of there), it doesn't do our society a damn bit of good, and it's an attitude that's going to lead to leftists and their subjects out-breeding us.
Biblically, women need guidance. Banishing them entirely from society isn't the answer (ye olde "barefoot and pregnant" mantra). Being a strong man and guiding them spiritually, however, is. If that means spending time with your wife/girlfriend together playing some stupid game for the lulz, so be it.
triggered much? pretty easy to see how things have gone to shit wrt the family unit since that started. gaming companies especially are trash now with all this fucking virtue signaling - and guess who creates that environment: women and soi
Same game, several years ago, There was a boss that would infect players with a blood plaque. People found out that there was a way to get your pets infected with the plaque, un-summon your pet, travel to any of the game’s major cities, re-summon the pet, and then sit back and watch as the plaque was spread to every player and npc In those cities.
Also i am not hiding who I was in game as I am using my name but when some kid stole from our guild once we reported him to his school and even had radio programs report on it,
When major news papers asked... Thats when we said no. We had major papers asking for a story it was strange.
It was Glaive from Illidan and and Memento
It all got returned and he got punished at school but there is no need for media to make it hard.
Our whole guild was built of friends and trust and when someone ruined it for greed it sucks
Alcohol is truth syrup and terrible for communities =)
I am on the fence about alcohol. It used to be essential in certain communities due to the fact that it was the only way to be assured of clean drinking water. But in situations like that, it was so weak, only 1-3% ACV. And many of our ancestors built great cultures, and alcohol was part of that culture. Vikings. Italians. 'Murica.
Yet it has a brutal side. And while I wont buzzkill your buzz by enumerating its drawbacks (we all know what they are anyway), I will just say this -- make sure you eat a good juicy steak to replenish your b vitamins! MAGA!
I am trying to quit for good and have thiamine tablets (B1 also Berocca as I love the taste) and taking them. Alcohol is honestly bad for me.
Thank you for saying that
You wont kill my buzz chatting to me and I cook the best smoked meats and have turned to the dark side of meat cooking Sous Vide.... Amazing results
I love cooking but if you are doing it then do it right. I grew up in a house where every vege was in 1 pot and boiled.... I cant live like that. It makes me sad
I pride myself on good BBQ and if I fuck up a steak I am sad =)
Make A Good steak Again MAGA. It is not perfect but you get my drift lol
I deleted my account over them taking away prize money from a player and firing an interviewer because the player advocated for Hong Kong rights during the interview.
But I have trouble taking any of this BLM posturing seriously, knowing most of it is a bunch of "Please don't hurt me".
What we need to do is drag all this out into the open somehow so that people affected by this crap realize they are not alone and that they understand that this is posturing, not true support.
One "please don't hurt me" bleet is all the consent of the victim a wolf requires to rip a sheep's throat out. All it wants to know is that there isn't a guard dog that bites in the immediate vicinity.
Can there be anything less consequential than an 'in-game protest'.
I hope this person takes the silver lining presented here, saves money on his now cancelled subscription, and puts his newfound time and money toward something else.
I remember when I was younger and my cousin had a computer and his dad bought us Warcraft 2. I took the manual home with me and would be amazed at their artwork. When they sold out to Activision, everything changed.
Remember when you were a kid and had lets say, the sonic 1 and 2 cartridges? Sure, sonic 2 had Tails/multiplayer and was newer, but sometimes you just wanted to pop in sonic 1.
You cant do that with warcraft. Not even with classic. I still have the god damn cds of burning crusade and wrath of the lich king, games i bought and cant play again. Such a ripoff that each expansion overwrote the last besides making your hard-earned purples worthless.
Also, legendaries for everyone, whee! Gogogo gearscore mindset, link achievement or no invite, fuck im getting carried away lol. Fuck china and bill clinton is a rapist. What were we talking about again?
World of Warcraft took a /played year of my life and broke video games for me. I also hate smokers now. If you take a chainsmoking break between each dungeon boss, I HATE YOU!!!!. I finally had a day of clarity, sold all my gear, and deleted my characters so I could never come back. Life is way better now.
er I play wow, the game is so damn large that unless those idiots were doing protest in major cities, I don't see the problem, just /ignore all of them, or keep spamming the chat with "guild recruit" to annoy them and go on with your day.
That's so stupid... although he should consider himself lucky. They're breaking his addiction, saving him money, and saving him from any temptation of buying any garbage they may release down the road since we all know Blizzard has been going downhill for a loooonnggg time... basically ever since the merger.
Sad thing is, is its here to stay. The WoW community completely acknowledges that the game has gone to shit, but theres still hundreds of thousands of people who play it religiously, all the while acknowledging it's gone to crap.
I have one such friend. Plays it every day. Asked him if I should buy some wow time (cause I haven't played in a few years) and he actually DIDNT recommend I buy it, even though he plays it all day every day.
What WoW once was is no longer. You can't go back. Not even Vanilla WoW will save it. I have very fond memories of WoW and went back after a very long time. It wasn't there anymore.
I used to play Star Trek online...so I know how you feel. I even started a fleet called "Terran Empire Green Berets". It was very successful..it was for Trek nerds who thought the mirror universe humans, dishing out a whipping instead of always receiving it were cool..but then the chinese bought the game and turned it into a grind fest...then It got even better with that faggot Alex Kurtzmann shitting all over cannon...and I just left.
The original idea for that game when Perpetual was doing it was what had my interest. You were going to be a member of the crew, with your own station and responsibilities, and that ship's crew was your guild/clan. Michael Okuda and Andy Probert were consulting on it, along with a bunch of the others, and they were recreating ships down to the bolt. They didn't get enough investors, ran out of money, and sold it to the company that went for the "wider appeal" and I never bothered.
Aside from the fact that I'm amazed anyone is still playing WoW, I think that an "in game protest" is maybe, just maybe, the dumbest fucking thing I have ever heard of, ever, in my entire life.
If someone is still supporting Blizzard by purchasing their products and subscriptions after all the Leftist cuck bullshit they've pulled in the past few years, they have no one to blame but themselves. It is bullshit they did this to him, but he should have expected it.
In a way, they did him a favor. Detach from the Leftitst system. Detach from video games. Build something real.
Seriously. MMOS are for fucking losers. Do something with your life.
Shut up loser and go play some video games. .......
While I go play mine.
I’m an IT Director for a financial advisor firm. I sit in my office and play MMOs while making 6 figures. Don’t let people convince you that you’re a loser because they don’t understand something you love to do.
So you don't do your job. Neat.
I also am extremely productive in life and play video games to relax sometimes.
I'm certainly not one of those people that spends all day and night on there tho.
How the hell can you play an MMO with a full time job AND going to school?
I call bullshit. You play an hour a day? Yeah right.
Better than being a TV-potato...
edit: heres my point, downvoters --- so much grief for gamers, as if gamers can't be productive if they game. But think of all the people who watch TV til they rot, and still hold down a job and be productive.
so IMO gamers do not deserve to be shit on when everybody has lesiure time activities. Singling out gamers for being idle too much is total hypocritical bullshit. Cry more.
Except old school runescape.
I play MMOs too. Playing star wars the old republic. Want a star wars story that isnt cucked like the sequel trilogy? Play this.
I quit hardcore video games three weeks ago... I’m already starting my second camper van build.
Get off the video games the new ones are insanely addictive reward loops.
I can't find any games that keep my attention anymore.
I've used them as a release for years, but there is nothing new that seems interesting to me, possibly because of how bad the reward loops are and how my brain rejects the reward for such a simple task.
Same!!! Is this an age thing?? League of legends is my only escape now and i can’t get myself re-addicted to that even.
Better off playing co-op games than versus games.
Things like br are you against the world, drug (adrenaline) fixes. They lower your stress tolerance and make you more likely to be depressed and irritate in real life interaction.

I played that game in my 20s and finally quit. People are dicks in that game.
Early 30s here, been having issues since around 29-30.
Lately, I've been playing super in-depth games, like EU4 or Stellaris just to keep my mind occupied.
Check out Star Citizen. It's an in development title but is easily the most innovative and interesting game being made. It's pretty mind blowing what they have been able to achieve thus far. I told myself I was going to do all of the things I always said I was gonna do but was too trapped in the simulation.
I’ve been fixing old bikes I buy for 10-20 bucks on the internet and volunteering at the bike kitchen.
Complete 180. People if you are reading this and stuck in the simulation throw your console in the fucking trash. It’s a trap!!
How much you make for a bike on average? I was thinking about doing something similar with dryers and/or washing machines.
I don’t sell them. I just buy them to fix them then I donate them. It’s a personal growth thing but I always have whatever bikes I need.

Started about 6 months ago. Now am a full fledged node/express/mongodb developer.

No wonder they banned the guy protesting for Hong Kong
Nope thats why I quit playing call of duty
As of today, same.
Guess I’m getting banned for reporting one of them.
Good riddance.
I... I had no idea. And I'm a huge Overwatch fan.
That ends today. It's getting deleted from the SSD right now.
I found that out a few days ago when they shoved BLM into their game and forced you to read that propaganda on each loading screen. Uninstalled and will never play an Activision or Blizzard game again.
Interesting. Never thought of that
A statement by J Allen Brack, President of Blizzard Entertainment, after their controversial censoring of Hong Kong protestors:
Hypocrites, much?

They lie as they breath.
Fuck all commies.
Hes also the ones who said people didnt want Classic WoW
Unless you don't like black supremacist terrorists, then you're not welcome.
Huh. So he's in favor of Taiwan feeling safe from China?
Lol what losers even did an in-game BLM protest?
All the fun of rioting and looting with none of the risk or travel time! Win win for soyboys.
Well at least in Warcraft there are no black communities for them to burn down.
Orc lives matter
Cataclysm was an inside job
You are thinking of gnomeregon.
Don’t worry, in the next expansion Blizz is adding black and yellow races to humans. Even though it makes zero sense because of the lore.
Maybe get blowies from that dwarven maiden over there
"The one with the beard, right?"

I'm actually in the background of that video somewhere, but the quality is pretty low and hard to pinpoint. But I was there.
That was the second video game funeral I crashed. The first was with the based The Enclave clan in Planetside 1.

Jokes on them society won't last 100 more years at this rate.
Maybe Apophis will give us the reset we need.
I'll never buy their shit again.
Yeah. No. I'm boycotting them now too.
That is some serious bullshit. It’s a game ffs.
I remember a WOW raid on a Funeral
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEpv7YxnLCQ
Dont support Blizzard or Activision
I don't know if it makes me a bad person, but I thought it was hilarious
Nope it does not.... It was soooo funny
im ded. tears are streaming down my face and im ded.
My bro and I were the first to get to max level in Burning Crusade and I gave him all my cash so he could have the first mount. Best expansion
Used to run a raiding guild and had over 300 people at one point but only 50 raiders. Was so much work but loved most of them.
I was raid leader. In Sunwell we came 2nd on server. Running raids was so much work but the best time ever. So many egos you had to deal with.
My raid slogan was just play like normal people. Also dont stand in voidzones was very common
Miss them all. Met so many awesome people and so many assholes hahahaha
Sorry drunk talking so hope you dont mind
WHAT A DEPLORABLE!
;)
Also i am not hiding who I was in game as I am using my name but when some kid stole from our guild once we reported him to his school and even had radio programs report on it,
When major news papers asked... Thats when we said no. We had major papers asking for a story it was strange.
It was Glaive from Illidan and and Memento
It all got returned and he got punished at school but there is no need for media to make it hard.
Our whole guild was built of friends and trust and when someone ruined it for greed it sucks
Alcohol is truth syrup and terrible for communities =)
HA! hilarious!!
Day 1 Deplorable =)
Is this an out of season april fools joke?
I deleted my account over them taking away prize money from a player and firing an interviewer because the player advocated for Hong Kong rights during the interview.
Meh. I'm not a fan of bizzard games.
Nobody, and I do mean nobody is saying otherwise.
It's stupid, but it is also a sign of the conditioning we have to break.
Sure, I'm just saying we'd better take it deadly seriously, because it is not just some dumb game; it is life and death stuff.
I hope he finds a good lawyer and sues.
Rofl, people interrupt ingame funerals without getting banned
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MEpv7YxnLCQ
Its really hilarious
Can there be anything less consequential than an 'in-game protest'.
I hope this person takes the silver lining presented here, saves money on his now cancelled subscription, and puts his newfound time and money toward something else.
I remember when I was younger and my cousin had a computer and his dad bought us Warcraft 2. I took the manual home with me and would be amazed at their artwork. When they sold out to Activision, everything changed.
Blizzard? The same people who host Call of Duty where you can shoot black game characters? That Blizzard? They care about BLM???
Blizzard hosts the game for PC
https://us.shop.battle.net/en-us/family/call-of-duty-mw
What the fuck is an in-game protest?
/shout What Do We Want ?
Looks like I will be pirating and distributing Blizzard games to others for free in the name of social justice.
You guys know that 'KEK" comes out as "LOL" to the Horde right?
Yes correct.
Kind of. You have it backwards. When as Horde you say "lol", it comes out as "kek" to the alliance.
I'll go with your explanation, it's been quite a few years and I used to get killed a lot anyway.
I deleted my blizzard account with almost all their games once they sided with China regarding Hong Kong.
Fuck them. I would suggest everyone does this. It's time we also participated in cancel culture.
Fuck their games and buy another fun or something. Something that isn't just pixels.
Imagine being such a bitch, you do a protest...in a 15 year old video game barely anyone cares about anymore.
Sad.
This is almost certainly fake. A 100 year suspension for that? Anyone with half a brain can edit the html like this.
I hope so.
I spent money on their products. Fuck Blizzard. I won't spend any money on them even if they came and gave me a blowjob. Fuck Blizzard.
I play video games to escape real world stress. This is why I usually play games that are over 20 years old.
Redpilling people while taking away the bread and circuses at the same time....
YES!!!
Miniature wargaming > MMOs.
Fight me.
WoW is full of retarded libs
Yeah, but raiding the Barrens chat with pro-trump MAGA stuff is strangely fulfilling.
Did that on Classic! 🤣
That's cool, WoW will be long gone in a few years. No one plays that cuck crap.
Damn dude.. that's the game I wanted to play
Aside from the fact that I'm amazed anyone is still playing WoW, I think that an "in game protest" is maybe, just maybe, the dumbest fucking thing I have ever heard of, ever, in my entire life.
I stopped buying Blizzard products when they spread their cheeks for the CCP.
Blizzard is asshole.
they should just make new accounts and connect through VPNs until Blizz bans those too and fucks China in the process
China and BLM seem to be blizzards 2 favorite things
Real life years, or in game years?
Did you read the email. Theres a date on there - 2120
I was making a joke, and no I didn't read the email.
Ballsack eyes is a huge investor in blizzard.
Can’t say I’m surprised.
Modern warfare updated their loading screen to ‘black lives matter” also.
Suddenly my two week ban from SWTOR for making a character named "Mace Dindu" doesn't seem so bad.
