This was just 25 yards, from a standing position. Today was as much excitement for the new gun, the indoor range has AC on a hot day and is less than 10 minutes away. There's loads of outdoor ranges with a lot more distances to choose from and not all that far to go.
There's definitely something to the breathing. I bet my instructor yesterday talked about breathing as much as safety. It makes sense and there were a few of those good shots on the bullseye that I felt a bit of a sweet spot. It's like I knew it was a good shot without looking.
Take a heavy breath, exhale, inhale 30%, stop breathing and take the shot within 5 seconds. If not rinse and repeat. You should be able to mark the X every time with that kit.
What distance were you shooting? Learn breath control. There is a very sweet steady hand moment at the end of a slow exhale.
I love the feeling of a perfect trigger squeeze at the end of a breath, and in between a heartbeat. Very Zen...the ultimate relaxation.
