Pedes, I'm sick of the politics of the state I live in and would like to move to another area of the country that is more in line with MAGA ideology. Any recommendations?
I'm currently considering Idaho (sorry to have another Californian considering this lol), Montana, and Maine.
To actually make sense you have to leave the city. Almost doesn't matter what state you go to, just leave the city. Moving from a Cali city to almost any other city makes little sense at the moment.
Makes sense. Any thoughts on what size of a city makes it start to turn blue? i.e. over 100,000 people.
I just left a city of 250k for the country. Get out of any size city, they're all blue over 5000.
West Virginia is 96% white - you'd probably be safe there, unless you're not white
You'd be safe here (wv) even if you're not white (hell we're happy to see anybody move in). Just don't be a cuck or a cuckette and you'd be fine.
Good to know. Any recommendations on where to live? Larger city (relatively) if possible.
"larger city" is relative here! lol None are real large.
Charleston (45,703) Huntington (44,416) Morgantown (30,983) Parkersburg (29,123) Wheeling (25,941) Fairmont (18,349) Weirton (18,059) Martinsburg (17,431) Beckley (15,547) Clarksburg (14,990) Those are the "top ten" lol. There are only 1.8 M people in the state total. Probably consulting a map to see what is nearer those cities that might interest you to have within driving range would be better than any recommendation I might offer. For example, Morgantown is good for getting to the Pittsburg area events. Parkersburg is good for Ohio events, Wheeling is good for both Pittsburg and Ohio events. And that would pretty much be the situation with most all of cities, however, a couple wouldn't really get you close to anything but that city. Now, the great outdoors, well, we got plenty of that just about everywhere else! lol
Care to explain? I'm not talking about diversity.
Diversity correlates strongly correlates with support for leftist policies. A simple way to avoid bad leftist policies such as they have in DC and Minneapolis is to avoid areas that have high diversity, then leaders have fewer special interest groups to pander (or take a knee) to. One exception I can think of is Hawaii, which has the highest diversity in America, but they're mostly Asian there, so kind of a unique case. Though Hawaii has been Democrat for decades, they don't seem to be trying to stand their police down and they don't seem to want anything to do with antifa.
Regarding not being safe if one isn't white in WV, since you're shopping for places to move to, strength in numbers is something to consider if violence spreads into a civil war. I'm sure people would defend or fight alongside people of any ethnicity provided that the minority person has assimilated into a given community, but if they haven't assimilated then I see other member's of a community looking out for their own families and friends. If I were looking to relocate, the possibility of civil war, left against right, is a factor I'd take into account.
Keeping at least an hour between you and a university should also help
Idaho is nice. As a Californian who moved here, you'll like it.
The Idahoans aren't too happy as the cost of living has gone up and if you're near Eagle / Boise / Meridian / Nampa you're going to deal with traffic because the roads weren't designed for this many people. But compared to CA traffic, you'll barely notice.
We could use more conservatives in the state, let's turn Boise red again. Cuck mayor is talking about making it a sanctuary city and implementing socialist policies. But the rest of Idaho is fantastic.
Interesting to hear about the socialist push happening in Boise, that's where I was targeting. Weird for what I consider a very conservative state, but I guess makes sense with all the Californians moving there. I didn't realize the amount moving there is literally shifting the state blue. Ya cost of living seems weirdly high. Thanks for the insight.
it does lean quite left thanks to the flatlanders. stay away from Portland and Lewiston if you do come here.
What’s the matter, you don’t like blistering heat with a humidity so high you feel you’re being boiled alive? Aside from that, Texas is great 👌
plus all the poisonous things and a great flatness
Austin’s quite hilly, though you’re spot on about the poisonous things: it’s fully of liberals, progressives, socialists, and other assortments of ridiculous bullshit.
Answer to that - have an indoor job and a pool at home. Admittedly the water I’m in right now is almost like bath water though, and it’s only june😳
Haha I love the heat but not the humidity. I will admit my research on Texas could be better, but I've always known Texas to be (opinion) overly libertarian. One of my classes at university studied the Texas narrative of "hey we're going to put a toxic chemical plant next to a Kindergarten and a Nursing Home because zoning is socialism". Has that changed?
Mm I can’t say that i have enough of a pulse on that matter. One issue that makes living here difficult, aside from the heat, is how big and heterogeneous it is. Plus people flooding the state and bringing their Leftist ideologies with them muddies the waters too.
At least we’ve got no state income tax, which i personally love.
Nahhhhhh, Florida is much worse. If I could only take one thing from LA with me, it would be the weather. 85 degrees in FL and I’m ready to go inside.
FORMER CA RESIDENT HERE. Disgusted! Also looking for another state......
Alaska is nice in the winter
Thanks. Worked there. Very nice MEN.
Was it really 14:1 men to women?
Yes
South Dakota. Land of the free. No income tax, low property tax and long-term republican ruled.
Outside of NY and CA, don’t think about states. I’d rather be in a based section of a blue state than in a psycho commie urban sanctuary in a red state. Local politics is everything.
Also, there are different types of blue. I live in Vegas which is very blue, and while a cop did get shot here for the most part it has been pretty calm as the Mexicans don’t really put up with that rioting shit.
Agreed, thanks. Any recommendations for based areas or cities with local MAGA politics?
East idaho is amazing. Stay away from Boise/Nampa area
Interesting. Any recommendations out there that I should look into? thanks.
I love Idaho falls. Close to Montana and Wyoming if you're outdoorsy
I dont know too much about the others but TX is always a good candidate as long as you stay away from Austin. We are fighting to remain a red state but I think we win that battle. Houston or Dallas/Fort Worth outlying area the best so far as economy, crime, real estate prices and taxes. We actually got a cut in property tax this year.
