I've also seen a blip somewhere that DOJ is reopening the email case but I've only seen it mentioned once so I'm not really sure.
You are asking a legal idiot :-) but I am pretty sure a deposition can be held anywhere. The judge is not present. The various attorneys are present and she has to answer questions under oath.
This is how they got Clinton (Bill). One attorney says that depositions are 99% of the struggle. A good attorney can weave questions and effectively trap folks. This is vaguely what happened to Flynn except Flynn was never actually caught. They just claimed he was.
Perhaps a real attorney will chime in and correct all of my mistakes.
