The reality is this, American police exercise a tremendous amount of restraint in the face of relentless criminal activity.

If everyone policed their own neighborhoods, the police would not be necessary. But if everyone policed their own neighborhoods, you would have a lot of incidents like George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown(that shop owner would have shot him), Ahmad Arbery and lots of other incidents where young black criminals are getting killed.

If this is what black lives matter wants, maybe we should let them have it.
