Post political stuff but don't get into political debates.
Ain't no one getting convinced but the political posts are to inform the people who would never see anything that would question their world view otherwise
Honestly I dont use FB anymore but I use to post stuff because i just imaginef a politically disinterested or ambivalent individual coming upon left leaning ideology consistently and taking it as truth because they never hear the other side of the argument. When I see a right leaning post or even just a neutral post looking at it from multiple sides it actually gives me hope. This is why I'm still on reddit. You cant even sort by controversial to get right leaning posts. They changed the algo again and you have to go down a few posts to get to anything conservative in news or politics subs.
Yes exactly - my brother is a raving leftist and hates Trump. He hasn’t worked for a total of more than about two years in his entire life, he’s now in his fifties. He’s supported by his partner who is an academic.
My husband and I both love Donald Trump, and we both started working when we were teenagers and we’ve had full-time jobs our entire lives.
Lol - I know!! My brother is the only family I have, and he epitomises everything I hate about the left. He’s SO INTOLERANT, and flatly refuses to discuss politics with me.
I live in a very white neighbourhood in Melbourne, Australia. About 10 years ago I made the observation that there aren’t many black people in our suburb, and then had a massive yelling match with him because he said that was a “racist“ comment. I remember being so confused (this was before I was red-pilled) because that statement is true, how can facts be “racist”?
His politics are the worst but he’s the only family I have :(
Family is waaaaaay more important than politics. Just roll your eyes and change the subject. My younger brother was left of Mao for most of his life. I never once had a fight with him, because we just didn't talk about it. Mostly because I don't rise to the bait under any circumstances. Happy ending though. About two years ago he accidently clicked on a molyneux debate. Spent all night in tears that he had been deceived by evil. He's much happier now. So good luck, there is always hope!
Of course it is, I should have been clearer that in my personal case I was dealing with a bleeding heart liberal that respects Christianity. Not a modern day burn it all down antifa type. Probably his true desire to help that allowed him to see the light. Had he been espousing violence or anti Christian views I could not have ignored it. But again, family is waaay more important than politics. God blesses you with your family. Cutting them off completely is a last resort, like an intervention. Just my opinion, can't quote you a scripture so, ymmv
I don't unfriend. I screenshot their posts incase they do what they claim they wanna do and then decide to delete their posts.
I have one numpty who was joyous over churches being stayed shut while they opened up the bars, then claimed all the churches should be burnt down, then started posting his drawings of churches burning like a 5-yr-old who just got a new set of crayons for Christmas.
I only unfriend when they specifically start bullying me or they post their b.s. on every single political post I put up - that's more to save them from their own insanity.
My sister is a democrat, super liberal teacher who doesn't want to hear any politics just that racism is bad and Trump is bad because he is a racist. Even when I try to reason with her and show her videos she refuses to listen/watch what is actually happening. It's maddening I have given up trying to reason with her. I will let her come to her conclusion later in life.
I'm seeing it happen too especially to family members who were on the fence. Best way to push someone to the right is fight with them, it makes them get defensive and solidify themselves in their stance.
Why do people post political shit on FB? It's not like you're gonna change anyone's mind.

"My sister had been a leech her entire life and is a bit nuts."
And there you have it.

Nonsense.

Don't cut them off either but don't excuse their b.s. either though learn to pick your battles

I can only imagine the conversation went something like this: https://youtu.be/dA3VhoKCIkM
An oldie but a goody. Trigglypuff...
Made even better by the soundtrack at the end.
the classics are classics because they're classic
and trigglypuff is in the Hall of Classics Fame
can't for the life of me figure out why that would be
Absolutely. And the subtitles help since it is impossible for all your senses to function at 100% while watching the Puff that is Triggling...

Yup, people are freaking lunatics right now.

Critical Race Theory is societal cancer.
There is a term for this, it's called "Pigeon Chess."
Yeah I had someone do something similar to me when I threw out the 'Facts don't care about your feelings' line.
You can't argue facts with lunatics.
The real crime is they still use facebook
