Things get complicated if you mix in the gangs, who are also well-armed. You've seen what they are capable of with the police available. No police means that those violent thugs can do what they want all day.

Basically major cities will come to resemble literal war zones as gangs and Neighborhood Militias fight over the city.

Neighborhood Militias have to go to their day jobs during the day.

Gangsta Thugs have all day. Lootin' and rapin' is their full time job, along with the occasional drug running. Not just talking about Chicago and LA gang here, those drug cartels and MS-13 have firepower, too (thanks Obama).

Not really. Militias are easily fundable. And cheap. Crowdfunding is a simple option. A forward thinking millionare could easily fund an army.

Nobody has any day job they actually go to - that’s so last year.

We all just get checks printed by the gubmint then go kill each other in the street.

Why have social cooperation when we can have socialist civil war?

Covid taught us to work from home

Those gang members lack any training or discipline. They will be mowed down like the rest.

That's true right now. But if there's profit to be made in looting, 2-3 years from now, those thugs will military-like training to maximize profits. Think African child soldiers and ISIS slave-traders.

They will never out number the 20+ million veterans that have actual experience and better training. Source : am one of those highly trained ready to stomp commie ass when the time comes Vets.

It's not just about numbers, but organization. They are allowed to organize. We aren't.

I'm from a country with very strong organized crime and narco-terrorists. They're very organized, have millions (maybe billions) in assets, and they're still shit at shooting or anything resembling tactics.

Only exception are bank robbers. But those are few and far between.

You had me thinking US until you got to the relatively few bank robberies.

You can’t suddenly manufacture disciple and the ability to stop drinking syrup all the time.

The police dont have teeth to go after armed gangs the way vigilantes would. Protocol, rules, warrants, etc. I group of well trained patriots with AR15s and no qualms about killing could make short work of criminals. We outnumber them severely.

This is absolutely true. Everyone in the community knows that one trash family in the neighborhood that lives off crime and welfare handouts that the police never do anything about. A gang of pissed off locals could solve the problem in an afternoon if the government weren't keeping private citizens on such a short leash.

Your 1 lib neighbor will turn you in and testify on behalf of the cartel.

They'll say the drug Lord was a cancer researcher and his racist neighbors killed him right before the cure arrived.

But you have to go to work during the day. Those thugs' main source of livelihood is too loot your houses. And they have all day.

You don't have to imagine what happens without a police force. It's already happening elsewhere. Parts of Mexico (where the cartel owns the police). Africa and their tribal wars.

Unless hunting creeps becomes more lucrative. Security companies are a significant industry. Even overseas.

The patchwork of fiefdoms reminds me of what's described in Snowcrash. Good book. No way I'd want to live it.
