The GoFundMe shit is kind of gross to begin with, but if people want to piss their money away, that's fine. It's just really odd that they initially wanted $1.5 million to bury a guy who probably had negative assets- it wasn't like his death prevented him from taking care of his kids. His death is the ONLY reason they will be taken care of.
Here is what the money is supposedly going to:

The money will be used for funeral, burial, travel and grief counseling expenses related to George’s Memorial Day death under the knee of a Minneapolis police officer, the site said.

So now his kid's and by extension, his baby mama's are multimillionaires? Seems legit. What kind of fuckery is going on here? I'm positive that the money is going to totally fuck the family up and someone will be arrested in a year or two for fucking up their fiduciary responsibility, but in the meantime, it's going to be interesting to see how they piss it away.
1.5 million is not an excessive amount to make up for the lifetime lost income of George. If George was unlike most Americans and fiscally responsible, he would have had life insurance that would provide this same sort of function.
$14 mil is excessive though, and regardless, 1.5 mil or 14, they are going to blow it.
