Maybe Qwant, Metager somethign like that. Those are what I'm using now. MEtager proxies your search and allows you to open links through that same proxy. Qwant is french seems ok so far works well.

Thank you. I’m using DDG because obviously Google is rubbish, if DDG is no good I’ll need another alternative!
