Serious question: is failure to pay municipal taxes (such as your property tax) only a municipal crime? Could federal or state police come after you for it, or could you basically say 'I'm not paying this tax anymore. Go on, arrest me."

You just can't sell or transfer ownership of property until debts paid... What we are paying for, I do not know
