A word of warning from a Californian: during the recall Newsom movement, a woman regularly came to our very conservative area in CA to collect signatures. Hard to describe, but she had this very “Dem Operative” vibe about her (was definitely not from the area). I now suspect after the fact that she was a Dem and collecting signatures to recall Newsom to get people to feel as though they had made their voice heard, but in actual fact she never turned them in. This is all speculation, but keep your eyes open.

If you are signing a petition on a clipboard, make sure you can see the header on the piece of paper you are actually signing, as opposed to seeing the header of the top page of the clipboard, while you are signing a piece of paper layers below it.
MI pedes should probably ask them a couple easy to answer questions to sus out the libs. Questions like "don't you think it's both stunning and brave that Obama was our first gay president?"
I was wondering what happened with that movement. Same thing with Northam they bumped up the number of signatures they needed then you never heard anything else after the fact.
Yep. Back in our Tea Party days here in OR, we had fakes, plus lots of warnings that even the smallest 'error' on an entire page of signatures and the whole page would be thrown out as "spoiled" so we had to watch for libs who were eager to sign so they could spoil the page.

This is right, people should be going down to a secure place and signing a petition. Not letting someone come to your house and promising the moon.
