The rioters are doing Amazon a big favor, by destroying small local businesses. The rioters are achieving more in a week, than he could do in a year. I've never really loves or hated Amazon before, but I will at least significantly cut back on my purchases there and canceling prime.

The lockdown, too. Amazon Pantry, Amazon Fresh, a lot of people buying groceries through them for awhile.

slaphappy2 30 points ago +30 / -0

Bezos' newspaper, the Washington Post, has been one of the loudest pro-lockdown voices.

By pure coincidence, Bezos has made a fortune during these lockdowns.

Be a bad, money losing customer. If you don't like something for any reason, return it. Need three things? Order them separately to tie up resources. There is a lot you can do that can hurt them more than just boycotts.

vegeta_ban 3 points ago +3 / -0

Just don’t do that to the third party sellers. They’re small businesses too.

6
FamburgerHelper 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yeah ... what a shocking coincidence!

chambleepede 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes... the number of calories consumed in the US probably hasn't changed much in the last 12 weeks... but FAR MORE of those calories are purchased from Bezos than before. That plus home delivery, and he's happy as can be.

How many people will leave their staple foods on subscription from Amazon after this is all over.

Also... "BLM" (TM) is a communist org.

Saying "black lives matter" is fundamentally different than saying "I support BLM." The former is just a slogan (and I don't like it either) but the latter is a literal communist org that wants to re-weave the fabric of America (if not the world).

The fact that he is mentioning this means that he is losing customers.

I've cancelled my $10/month Bezos tax.

They ramped out their delivery infrastructure (delivery trucks, distribution centers) based on an increasing Amazon Prime base. Fixed costs. This is going to hurt their bottom line.

I just cancelled Prime and let em know why. There’s a super short survey after the cancellation process. Anyone wanna match me?

11
Staatssicherheit 11 points ago +11 / -0

Was there a way on their website to cancel? I could only stop auto-renewal. I went through chat to cancel.

slaphappy2 19 points ago +19 / -0

BLM is a straight-up Communist group. Anybody who doesn't believe that can simply go to their website.

Michael Knowles does that here : https://www.dailywire.com/show/the-michael-knowles-show

Bezos is no dummy. He knows that BLM is communist - and that Bezos is the world's most successful capitalist. He knows the Communists would behead him if they seized power.

He arrogantly thinks that he can manipulate the situation with his giant pot of money. Maybe he is right. Maybe things will end badly for him.

I've never bought anything from Amazon or had an Amazon account

It's not hard. You can do it too. I have everything in life that I want

That’s what I try to do. I’ll go to Amazon to check reviews, then see if I can purchase what I want directly from the brand/manufacturer.

I have discovered how great ebay has become.

eBay is liberal just as much as Amazon is, they really screw over small sellers with fees and forced returns from dipshits who don't read the ad

They both suck ass

Ok Jeff. Hope to hear my Walmart cashier telling everyone she checks out that abortion is murder. See how that works, corporate America?

I love Abe books, found titles that were out of print and couldn't be located there, and the pricing is great.

2
MagaMay 2 points ago +2 / -0

I like it too. Good prices also, good to have lots of places to shop other than Amazon.

Project Gutenberg has a lot of free public domain eBooks (so mostly older works of classic literature etc), but I think you can buy modern eBooks from Kobo. I've no idea what Kobo's political stance is but it might be a decent option.

2
MagaMay 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don't do e books, never tried it.

6
Raindrops1984 6 points ago +6 / -0

Check out Classical historian. Homeschool high school curriculum but super based. I bought their entire series to educate myself and save for my kids. They do kid and adult Constitution Bees every year!

MagaMay 4 points ago +4 / -0

Thank you for the tip.

5
Nalgahyde 5 points ago +5 / -0

I buy books for everyone I know from thriftbooks.com. You can get some great quality used books really cheap.

2
MagaMay 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thank you, just a wealth of alternatives, jotting it down.

theyve used government subsidies and laws to seize control of the market, which is why theyre comfortable saying that

That’s why I originally signed up when stuff I ordered without having Prime took weeks to come. Since covid, delivery has sucked. And I’ve asked several times for them to have a made in the USA filter with no response. Bye amazon prime.

NoatakTheWiser 4 points ago +4 / -0

Imagine if Bezos was just as motivated to find a cure for baldness as he was shilling for democrats. Then maybe he wouldn't look like Rufus the Naked Mole Rat in a suit.

4
silent_majority_2020 4 points ago +4 / -0

I was about to order something from Amazon but I decided not to after seeing the banner. Who made the banner: Bezos's butt buddy?

3
splink 3 points ago +3 / -0

I took things off of my potential purchase list there and went hunting for the source company to buy direct from them, a couple other things I found through ebay. No more Amazon needed here.

3
silent_majority_2020 3 points ago +3 / -0

Awesome! Skip the middleman and save.

Hubby is closing Amazon account and dollar shave club account today! We will only buy online from small u.s. companies that have no ties to China or democrats! If I have to take hours to find the perfect gift/product from the perfect company so be it!

Put up or shut up people. Stop using amazon then. This is one of those blacklist campaigns that usually never works. There’s far too many people still using amazing to do any damage.

what's an alternative to amazon?

1
DaayTerkErJerbs 1 point ago +1 / -0

Jokes on him I've been avoiding Amazon as much as possible for 10+ years already. I basically only buy books from them when I can't find it cheaper on ebay.

Imperialist Mega corporations good if they have ministry approved politics

1
Reave 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sounds like a 4chan op needs to get started to protest peacfully at Amazon and see what Jeff thinks.

Joe Rogan actually did a podcast on how corporations do influence peoples opinions and how leftist billionaires do virtual signalling.

I believe that's illegal under anti-discrimination laws. If you want a class lawsuit against Amazon then it's open game now.

Used to get a fair bit of things via Amazon, but now it's my absolute last choice.
