This is HUGE news. Yet I'm barely hearing mention of it.

blackestknight 72 points ago +72 / -0

WHO lied, Economy Died.

6
RahkeemTheMachine 6 points ago +6 / -0

Who is lying again, they’re just trying to create confusion.

1
SemperFree 1 point ago +1 / -0

CDC really. That is where the blame lies.

Incompetent, deepstate operatives with a god complex.

moderatepolitician 38 points ago +38 / -0

Media doesn't want to be exposed as fear mongering asshats.

Democratic governors will take the reopenings nice and slow so they get their federal aid and for damage control purposes(that they took everyone's rights and want to look like the good guys!).

Is it thought? Why would you listen to anything the W.H.O. says at this point?

16
Miasmo 16 points ago +16 / -0

Point taken, and I really don't. But all the Karens who have been publicly shaming people for not wearing a mask do , so why aren't they blasting this all over Nextdoor etc.?

42
Crlsniper 42 points ago +42 / -0

It’s good news, but it also says The Who is saying this so...

42
CisSiberianOrchestra 42 points ago +42 / -0

The Floyd protests started a week and a half ago. If there isn't a massive spike in cases within the next few days, people will notice and they will realize that they were lied to.

This could very well be the WHO trying to cover their own ass and save face.

6
MehNahMehNah 6 points ago +6 / -0

The cases don't matter, just death. And if co-morbidities are factored out people are going to be mad. Or should be.

6
ailurus 6 points ago +6 / -0

I agree that deaths are far and away the most important, but the media probably won't get to use cases as a talking point anyway.

7-day rolling averages of new cases per day since May 26th (when the protests began):

23329, 20723, 22392, 21939, 19098, 22507, 21986, 21249, 23751, 20348, 20341, 22621, 21731, 20221, 20411

7-day rolling average on deaths per day in same timeframe:

1171, 973, 1079, 1063, 912, 1065, 1014, 1008, 1149, 900, 872, 968, 893, 832, 792

Today is 2 weeks to the day from the first Minneapolis protests, so if a case spike doesn't happen in the next few days its not happening. A death spike (if its going to happen) is still a week or two out (IIRC, its about 10 days from hospitalization to death on average? Or was it longer?), but if the case spike doesn't happen then there won't be a death spike.

1
MehNahMehNah 1 point ago +1 / -0

'spike' is the new over-used and abused word.

2
djmarcone 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah I think you're on to something. Gotta get out ahead of it.

32
CisSiberianOrchestra 32 points ago +32 / -0

I've been saying this for a while: Rand Paul is Trump's corner man. He says things that Trump can't come out and say publicly (yet). Take this as a prediction of things to come. The coronavirus narrative is dying. The fact that Trump is about to start having rallies again pretty much confirms this.

ThePenisBetweenUs 5 points ago +5 / -0

I still can’t go out to eat in my state. I’m a teacher in PA. My students still can’t have a graduation.

There are things that got ruined that can easily still be fixed (graduation, 4th of July parties, summer beach town economies) and they STILL aren’t undoing this.

29
SoldanoSlo 29 points ago +29 / -0

It also means you can start up all the sports leagues without all the massive testing, but considering the sports leagues would be a massive KNEEL CUCKFEST right now it's probably better this way lol.

5
cheesecakelove 5 points ago +5 / -0

NBA is starting soon. Gonna be a lot of bullshit with them.

NASCAR, with one HALF BLACK driver went on for probably an hour with that bullshit. The guy was crying and being all somber. Probably one of the most privileged people ever complaining about equality. Some of these people need to wake the fuck up.

2
slrpnls 2 points ago +2 / -0

Masks Don’t work. Ok, only super specific masks work. Don’t have the super specific mask? Eh, wrap a tshirt over your face to at least show people you’re trying. Who cares if they work?

Oh and don't/can't wear one? That's a $300 fine.

12
FitOfficial 12 points ago +12 / -0

Wait, why believe the WHO now? And if it doesn't spread with asymptomatic hosts, how the fuck did so many people get it so quickly (including asymptomatics)?

Sounds like more bullshit.

9
rrobalyw 9 points ago +9 / -0

The whole thing has been a crazy ride! In February and March I thought few more weeks and we will know everything for certain...

After 5 months there are still no answers, it just shows how incapable we're as a society and even worse how the "experts" are useless, totally useless!

We need to break up this monopolies on info and research, and let everyone do it.... We're not innovating as a world...we're too slow and bureaucratic.

healthy people with functioning immune symptoms - especially younger people - don't shed virus particles. What the WHO is saying here agrees with what actual scientists have been saying all along. This is them getting ahead of the news when these protests don't result in mass 'Rona infections.

People are waking up to the truth that they smashed the global economy at China's whim and there was no mass threat.

People agreed to "flatten the curve" for a couple weeks because they gave TPTB the benefit of the doubt. The people did NOT agree to "flatten the economy" and live in a police state because "Orange Man Bad" and every doorknob has cooties.

1
MakeLiberalsCryAgain 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because a lot of people are fucking assholes and still go to work, go out, etc. when they're sick. There's always the "hero" at the office who has to "power through" whatever they have, and in the process, everyone else gets sick.

7
Meddlesom 7 points ago +7 / -0

When it comes from WHO, I now believe the exact opposite of what they say.

5
Miasmo 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yes, but things like this serve to highlight the hypocrisy.

2
Meddlesom 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep, it's now the protester-friendly flu.

7
Chick-fill-eh 7 points ago +7 / -0

Honestly, use whatever excuse you need to keep kids home. You cannot have a false flag with kids being home schooled in the presence of firearms.

7
Staatssicherheit 7 points ago +9 / -2

I don't trust any shit that comes out of WHO. Stop lending legitimacy to that corrupt organization, Senator Paul. Use other legitimate sources.

7
AmericanJawa 7 points ago +7 / -0

AX THE MASKS!

6
Pres_Trump 6 points ago +6 / -0

Rand Paul has been saying this for a month already, maybe more.

6
RiverRunnerVDB 6 points ago +6 / -0

Doesn’t the fact that this is coming from the WHO mean that it is way more contagious than we previously thought?

4
TaggartCiscontinenta 4 points ago +4 / -0

It is very contagious. Fortunately it has low virulence as well for the folks who aren’t chronically ill at their baseline. For instance, blood tests on a 400 person sample of sailors aboard the USS Teddy Roosevelt showed 60% had the antibodies. If you extrapolate that to the entire ship that’s 2,400 affected with ZERO deaths. We should never have closed the schools and we could’ve had millions of asymptomatic affected people and built great heard immunity.

I trust Dr. Paul but not the WHO. I'm conflicted.

Open the country up 110% NOW!!!

4
Kek_The_World 4 points ago +4 / -0

I hate the WHO. (Not the rock band) they are constantly moving the target, they don’t know what they are doing, liberal, commie anti-Christians and finally, globalist new world order asshats.

3

Yeaaaaah I'm like 98% sure they knew this all along

Call, write and meet up with your school district. They could still enforce plexiglass around their desk, no class changes, one way hallways and eating lunch at their desks.

2

Dr Rand Paul.

2
Tardigrade 2 points ago +2 / -0

Meh, fuck the WHO (not the dr. Seuss weirdos, theyre cool).

2
MakeLiberalsCryAgain 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wait, so forcing millions of people to wear masks did nothing?!!! No fucking shit.

2
Tenspot20 2 points ago +2 / -0

Summer school bitches!!! Thank God!

2
FredWinston2.0 2 points ago +2 / -0

So now we are supposed to trust the WHO? The whole thing was bullshit so it doesn’t matter anyway!

2
killerkram 2 points ago +2 / -0

"A report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published on April 1 cited the “potential for presymptomatic transmission” as a reason for the importance of social distancing. "

April fools!!!

Put an end to the Masks then Senator, please.

Also, remove funding from the incompetent CDC. CDC did much more harm than good to this country.

Thank you
