There are protests right out my neighborhood, in front of a Walgreens. It's pretty pathetic, maybe at most 30 people, and the most ironic part is that all but maybe 1 of the protestors are white. Virtue signaling and grandstanding at it's finest

Still protesting in Asheville tonight. Very low energy. The best part is, they talked a big game about coming to the rural neighborhoods but have not left the city limits as of now. In a totally unrelated coincidence, all the gun stores are low on ammo and guns. There was talk of them going to Sylva (think Mayberry, but smaller) to graffiti the civil war statue but good ol boys showed up on night one with their second amendment and had a camp out. Nobody’s talked about leaving Asheville since.

Cool!

I might be your neighbor, soon.

Planning to move near Asheville, not in the town.

Don’t move into Asheville. It’s swamped with the nastiest laziest hippies you ever saw. Bright blue lagoon in a Red Sea. Waynesville is nice, but a lot of the college kids and professors hang out there. Cullowhee/Sylva are wonderful little towns, but there’s a college there which makes the traffic ridiculous. Highlands is for the rich people (and drug dealers, weirdly). Only enrolled tribal members can own land in Cherokee. I personally think Canton and Dillsboro are some of the best places around here to live. You’ll love it! Gorgeous during leaf season and very based. I love the cops up here, mostly good ol boys. Lots of great churches.
