It didn't just exonerate more cops than it condemned, it exonerated nearly all. Complaints dropped dramatically as well.
Either this means cops changed their ways overnight, in which case great. Or it means historical accounts have been almost entirely made up or exaggerated because the lack of accountability allowed for the aggregate of lies to be cashed in for political coin.
I've always watched shows like Cops, but thought it was just edited down to show the worst of the worst. Now we have hours long shows like Live PD and Live Rescue. I realize that I could never be a police officer because I would taze everyone just to get them to shut up with their bullshit.
I can't imagine it'll be permanent. The cost to produce it vs the revenue it generates is just too good. That show nails a demographic every advertiser wants a piece of.
If you go back and watch old episodes, it seems every criminal that has to be chased down says " I can't breathe". There was a recent one where one of the cops replied "Maybe you shouldn't run from the police then!"
"I can't breathe" and "I feel sick" are classics because ideally they can get you to a hospital rather than appropriately arrested and processed.
If the cops take a criminal to the hospital they have to wait ~4 hours for a doctor to see him and process him and then release him. Then the officer can complete the arrest and book him.
As you might imagine many officers don't bother to wait for a variety of reasons.
Another classic is "The cuffs are too tight!" (for me to slip out of and try to run).
These things are typically said by career criminals who dedicate significant time and effort to thinking of the most advantageous things they could possibly say during an arrest.

And many don’t make shit unless they work lots of OT and details.
And they took Live PD off the air. WTF?
Oh shit, you're right. Cops and Live PD pulled probably because it makes minorities look bad.
