That doesn't mean it's a rational choice for self-defense, particularly against an armed opponent. The Toyota Corolla is the most-sold car in the world, by far, and therefore likely has the most miles, as a model, but it's still not the vehicle of choice for anyone who can afford better.

I don't carry .22, but to claim it's ineffective is silly. Like all things, it has its place.
