This is what I've seen in many of my college friends who left for the big cities. They are 100% reliant on the government or someone else. Faucet leaks? Call your landlord. You need to get to work, then you take the city provided transport. Want food? Someone else will cook it for you.

Meanwhile if you live in the country or burbs then you have to do everything on your own.
