It’s many things- they have no faith. Sorry, you can say belief in God is worthless, that’s cool- but I’d rather hold on to the belief that someone up there is looking out for me/us. I understand people go through life without faith, but without it there can be a large dark hole inside someone.
They get into these protest groups under the guise that they’re going to change the world, and when absolutely nothing happens they sink further into depression.
They have no goals, no dreams, they’re just told what to do by the loudest person in the group. They’re just a number, and when the chips fall, they’re not important or useful to the protest group. It’s every man for himself.
They either weren’t loved enough or not disciplined enough.
