The only “conservatives” I’ve ever known who went leftist were gay men. Do you live in an urban area? Urban areas are breeding grounds for liberalism. It attracts people who want to stay forever young and fuck and party every night of the week.
Focus on your goals and career and surround yourself, if you can, with people who share your values and vision for America...and like you said, keep the red pills flowing!
I hear you. No, we live in a rural town, and it's the yearning to move to the city and join the 'in crowd' that has gotten hold of my friends. They want to hang out in the liberal coffee shops with liberal friends and live the fast life of instagram popularity, (which I understand is not a bad thing in itself, I just know these people and am surprised to see them change so rapidly!) But, hopefully I'm just worrying to much, and they'll come back around.
I am 29 and live with my partner in a majorly Trump/GOP county. It’s understandable that your friends want to be a part of that life if they’ve never had that. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Only by the grace of God did I survive living in an urban leftist environment (St. Louis) as a gay man and did not come out a raging commie.
I imagine most of your friends who want that life are single. They will move to the city and have fun living that “instagram life” as you so correctly put it. But at some point they are going to lie their head on their pillow at night and get tired of being lonely. The trendy bars, coffee shops, and Instagram pics with 2,000 likes aren’t a stable, loving significant other who lies next to you every night in bed, an excited toddler on Christmas morning, etc.
Too many millennials spend their time chasing this Peter Pan lifestyle and idiot Boomers/grandparents enable this mentality by saying things like, “you’re 26. Go! Do! Be free! They are only making things worse for these young folks in the long run. I think you see this “oh fuck, I’m 30 and have no spouse or children” more so in women than men. You will also find that many of these people will eventually be on antidepressants and other mood meds.
That’s a very sane take on growing up and becoming an adult in this FOMO,
look-at-me, hedonistic society we all find ourselves living in the middle of 2020. You are wise beyond your years! I warn my two teens about the same thing - not to be dazzled by the thought of city life and party culture with no rules or repercussions - because it gets lonely and empty fast. I try to encourage them to look for quality people they can trust and a long term relationship. I get a little pushback (mommm, I’m only 17 - gawd!) but I believe they are taking it to heart.
You are a wonderful mother and your teens will thank you for your love and wisdom one day. I didn’t appreciate the things my mom and dad taught me until I was about 22-23.
I think it will be easier to arm your teens against the evil of the Left as they become more crazy and Maoist. People around my age (29) grew up in an era where liberals were silly and open minded and loved everyone...NOT! How wrong we were!
I want to stay forever young and fuck and party every night of the week but unfortunately I'm now in my 50s w bills to pay and retirement on the horizon! 😒

Thanks I will. 😁 Same to you!

All the best to you and your family :)
You’re a good mom. As kids we might blow it off at the time, but we always remember what our parents tell us, and it pays off hugely as we get older.
I think part of our cultural issue is that a lot of parents don’t teach their kids anymore.
Really? Cause it sounds like a hollow, futureless existence.
I added that to be polite. ;) I personally have no social media accounts at all, and think it's empty and useless as well.
That’s so funny I fled the city and all that dumb shit your friends want to experience.
You can’t turn a city into a small town but you sure the fuck as hell can pave paradise and put up a parking lot.
Cities are bullshit. It’s living with extra steps.
If you’re a fancy fella with a top hat and a good college education you do you woo woo.
Don’t let them glamorize the city though.
I appreciate you sharing that point of you. I agree, and won't let them fall for it easily.
And I agree, I've been around long enough to see other friends and my brother yearn for the fact paced life and get incredibly leftist...
The only “conservatives” I’ve ever known who went leftist were gay men.
Thank you for the chuckle.
