The problem is that seattle's government is OK with this, and because it's elected officials supporting it, it can be seen as "the will of the people" allowing it. They are supporting it in a way.

The best thing Trump can do is stay out of it like he has with most local issues. It's something Trump doesn't get enough credit for but he and his administration have really done a great job at respecting local government and our republic in general.
