not the whole story. jay patel of ascent hospitality offered it to them (don't know if it was for free or for a nominal charge) when he and his management/family were fleeing the city. his generosity took a hit yesterday when someone od'ed in the hotel. they have to move out and now they want someone to get them another hotel. it's basically street people with mental health & drug issues, a smattering of the blue-haired crowd that have probably been disowned by their families, and imho, there's some antifa hiding out who got trapped.
