It still blows my mind that a fat SJW of rich parents (whose name isn't important) that got famous for blowing games journalists changed Candace from being a nobody to a nationally known right wing superstar.

Wait Candace got her start with Gamergate?
She originally had an idea for a reporting database for "toxic" behavior. She got redpilled on that idea really quickly during the events of GamerGate, when it became apparent that people like Anita Sarkeesian were just the Al Sharpon-esque hucksters of the digital world.
In the process she became redpilled about everything.
Not.... really, and not by her choice. Candace, like a lot of people, got thrown in to GG by a fat SJW of rich parents (who, again, is otherwise unimportant) back when Candace was seeking funding to work on a website called "Social Autopsy", a site that was supposed to be dedicated to calling out people who were saying mean things on the internet. Good intentions, bad implementation (too easy to fake required documentation, for one), and a bad idea all around.
Oh, AND it was too similar in concept to a grift that a fat SJW was trying to run at the time, and when Candace didn't capitulate to the fat SJW Candace suddenly started getting a bunch of threatening and hate-filled phone calls.

That was bad enough, but when people called them out they went full SJW cancel culture on gamers. Understand that this was one of the first instances of this, and certainly the most public. Gaming subreddits full out banning mention of it, gaming sites both denying the allegations and gaslighting gamers as the villains.
It created the enormous reactionary movement of the New Right, which is how we all ended up here.

I've read so many synopsis of 'gamergate' and never really got much out of the explanation and it always sounded like butthurt basement dwellers contradicting each other about what the real problems was. Your description was like a Cliff Notes version that cut to the bone of the problem. It seemed like reading it before I needed to know basic building blocks like names of players. It seemed like even if someone was trying to give an unbiased description they still found a way to blame or name someone. You pulled it together for me, thanks!
