CandaceOwens… I’m always confused by people who say things like “Don’t you see yourself in George Floyd”. No. Why? Do all White people see themselves in Ted Bundy? Do all Chinese people see themselves in Mao Zedong? If you expect me to relate to people based on skin tone, you’re an idiot...

Not.... really, and not by her choice. Candace, like a lot of people, got thrown in to GG by a fat SJW of rich parents (who, again, is otherwise unimportant) back when Candace was seeking funding to work on a website called "Social Autopsy", a site that was supposed to be dedicated to calling out people who were saying mean things on the internet. Good intentions, bad implementation (too easy to fake required documentation, for one), and a bad idea all around.
Oh, AND it was too similar in concept to a grift that a fat SJW was trying to run at the time, and when Candace didn't capitulate to the fat SJW Candace suddenly started getting a bunch of threatening and hate-filled phone calls.
There's a couple of old threads from back when KiA was great. I'll link archives for them here.
A quick rundown of the situation is here from Ask_Me_who: http://archive.is/Ms08k
A later, longer recount of the situation is here in the OP: http://archive.is/8D7hF
The latter is a better read if you have the time, since it came a couple of years later (maybe) and has much better citations.
Mark Kern (aka Grummz) has a short tweet with some good replies here: https://archive.is/0CAVT
Candace tells the story in her own words on Joe Rogan #1125 (go find it yourself).
It was funny watching Jack Dorsey apologize to her after twitter smeared her. https://twitter.com/jack/status/989936132841328640
Also, friendly reminder that Current_Year isn't the first time that Candace has called out BLM for being shady. Seems she got in trouble with Youtube back in 2017. https://archive.is/40nzw
I'd also recommend reading the comment that some handsome and talented guy stickied on that last link, as it links to a very good write-up by LunarArchivist, who is pretty good at keeping documents.
As I said year(s) ago after Social Autopsy got abandoned: "I don't think she's dumb, I think she was just a bit naive to think that something like that wouldn't be abused. She got better, though."
