I would say that it's quite naive and narcissistic to believe that things can only appear in the form you expect to find them, and even more so to think if you can't see something then it must not exist.
That's why narcissists are drawn to the left, of course. Open minded thinking is not their strong suit.
Although I admit I have always found it odd that they defy God so vigorously given their overwhelming desire to be ruled by a benevolent dictator that provides for their well-being.
One of the biggest benefits of knowing G-d is having something bigger than you that you can bow to.
Otherwise, a man believes that he is a god.
Especially a man who's by himself. Hence, why G-d declared that it's not good for man be alone.
(Bit of a translation slip: Some people think the line is G-d said it's not good for man to be alone. Interpretation question? Is it bad for the man if he's alone? Or is a lone man a bad thing for the world itself? I lean towards the second. Or maybe both.)
The issue is that "god" has been anthropomorphized, instead of seeing the god of creation, it's a white bearded commie looking guy.

Always thought that was about mrrige, having one lifelong mate. I know men who are life-long bachelors and are some of the most selfish people on earth. I understand why it is not good for man to be alone. He starts believing his own hype and becoming his own god.
It is about marriage, but it's also showing another reason why there's marriage and why men and women need each other. Though in that verse, it's why the man needs the woman.
Yeah, the problem with bachelors. Having a wife and children really does take away the self-centeredness. Unless you're a depraved a-hole, and those people do exist.
