Very bad business.

Very sad...

Praying some some of them WalkAway from the left after this, and praying for the injured man and his family. Such stupid decisions lead to this kind of tragedy!

I pray with you - I pray for us all. This has gone too far.

Thank you, FluffiPuff. We shall pray for this great Nation and her people together.

It has indeed gone too far.

The man that was doing Black Power fist in the air for an hour before pulling that statue down on himself? That poor helpless innocent guy?

There have been a lot of bad dudes and bad women turn their lives around after doing some awful stuff. I'm praying for that to be the case with this guy, his family and friends and any of those fools out there with him.

I know he caused it to happen, but that's a horrible way to get hurt or die, and a horrible thing to see happen to another human being. I hope that somebody walks away and drops their hatred and violence and rethinks their life.

This. Saul incited violent persecutions of new Christians in Jerusalem. A literal act of God transformed him into the Apostle Paul. This may have been an act of God that turns some people's lives around as well. There is hope for everyone.

Amen, Pede, well stated. I believe that as well.

Knowing Portsmouth like I know Portsmouth, here's what's going to happen. Assuming he's still alive, I haven't seen anything in the local news about him dying, he's going to sue the city, and you know what, he'll win. The city will give him a six figure payout. I can just see the headline on WAVY 6 months from now "Man who statue fell on during peaceful protest settle's with city for an undisclosed amount of money".

He was on meth/fent and stealing from a shopkeeper with counterfeit cash.

He was not some saint.

Maybe I've grown jaded with my advanced years and seeing repeats of these entitled tantrums coming from immature reactionaries. But he set out to destroy culture and history, and in the process got severely injured. News flash. The real world comes with real world consequences. Everyone involved should face charges of some sort, whether they're gross negligence or manslaughter (if the dude died or dies). The statue didn't fall on its own. Actions have consequences and he wasn't just walking by on his way to buy a snow cone. He bears some responsibility for being there, and those pulling the statue down bear the majority of the blame.

I understand that fully, and acknowledged as much to another Patriot here.

The man and his friends caused his demise. His choices and theirs led to a foolish decision which now has him either dead or severely injured.

I simply care about the state of his soul, and the affect this choice of his put on his family. If he lives he will undoubtedly have severe injuries that will cause him to have to be cared for by others the rest of his life. That changes their lives forever having to care for him. If he died, then they are without him and that's very sad. If he is alive he has a chance to change his ways and come to know God. If he's dead...then I pray for comfort for his family.

It was a incredibly selfish thing to do on so many different levels. And illegal and immoral. But somebody is coming away from this unfortunate tragedy a changed person, weather we ever know it or not. And hopefully it's a change for the better.

I can't argue with that sentiment.

Hopefully the family will be forced to buy a new statue if he's unable to work

He was helping to pull it down.

That's a no from me dawg. I'll pray for the innocent. But ultimately what happened was Gods plan.
