A thing that has always made me a little sad is that the left has ruined so much superfluous stuff for Trump out of pure spite. We’re not talking they pushed back on an ideological thing his administration wanted (which would be understandable, political groups disagree all the time), that they protested something he did that they disagreed with (again, provided it wasn’t this cancerous style protesting we’re seeing now it’d be perfectly reasonable), or even that they just loudly declared they hated him (perfectly in their right). No, that wasn’t enough. So what do they do, they go through things connected to the Trump family but completely unrelated to his political activities and try and shit on that. His cologne brand is flooded with phony poor reviews because pissy Sanders voters don’t get their $500/hr minimum wage. Trump hotels and properties see the same thing (trust me, they’re five-star). His clothing brand, his books, everything - anything he or his family has ever touched, regardless of how apolitical it may be, is considered fair game for the unscrupulous left to attack out of pure petty spite.

How your comment reminded me of that is that for Trump’s inauguration, Andrea Bocelli has agreed to perform which seemed so perfect and fitting. This is a momentous event in history; the luxury hotel brand - even just the name - heavily imply an air of class and sophistication; everyone in the US hearing a beautiful performance would have helped to at least ever so mildly heal some of the divide. But sure enough... leftists stormed social media and threw a big enough tantrum and cried loud enough that Bocelli was forced to back out. These people couldn’t even allow the nation to have one hour of beautiful music that would bring people together. They seriously showed their colors that day.
