Was on a stream with my church friends last night. We were discussing the message of CS Lewis's The Screwtape Letters. It was a good conversation until the subject of communism came up. And it turns out, they were all fans.

I’ve ran into a few people that call themselves socialists or communists and vast majority of them have never read any literature (even supportive (never mind something that points out flaws)) on the philosophy they supposedly align themselves with. My favorite to date was someone smuggly throwing back at me that I probably hadn’t either... Yeah, buddy.... The person that is currently working on their grad degree in economics and studied economics and political economy in undergrad has never read several of Marx’s godawful speeches or numerous half-baked arguments that Engels’s vomited out. Ya figured me out.
Of the ones that have read something, usually they’re a little more versed in economics and then it becomes incredibly easy to just point out the flaws in true communistic belief and show that they’re either only communist in name but are actually just in favor of overly progressive taxation or that they hadn’t been reading their textbooks closely.
When someone tells me they’re a genuine communist, my knee jerk reaction is to think they’re just either stupid or pissed at their current situation and the system because of it (or both). I’ve talked with numerous incredibly liberal/progressive officials that had some lofty seats and some impressive credentials. Not a single one of them could come even close to communist and I think they wouldn’t want to touch that label with a ten foot pole.
No wonder BLM loves these guys. They have their own society for 2 days and the only black guy there decides he's the de facto leader without any process or resistance.

Then we have a “this man is a very real threat to everyone and should be immediately removed by near any means” level of problem.
Or, if this is just the new normal and on the up and up, then I’m just going to head to my city’s financial district with a few friends and plenty of weapons and claim I make the rules. (Rule #1: Me and my friends now have ownership of all the money in every bank vault and it’s not illegal for us to use any amount of force to get to it)
