I'm sickened at the mainstream media, the BLM "movement " that has turned a thug into a hero/Saint buried in a $20k to $40k gold plated casket. And ensuing "justified" riots.
My spouse, and her family are hard core democrats, and they have all drinked from the Dem Kool-aid.
I don't care anymore, I want to fight and show support for what I believe in.
Personal experience in Tulsa and surrounding close by cities has showed me that not many are wearing masks.
I've had a few people make comments that thought I couldn't hear them with negativity, about me wearing a mask, the one or two times I've been out on average per month briefly in public since the pandemic hit.
I just want to support our president and our great country. Just looking for advice.
Finally, I'm on disability (for now) I've been in the work force and paid my taxes for 20+ years and funds are extremely limited. Ideally Id like to purchase a firearm for home defense, and also concealed carry.
The bit of research I've done says to get a shotgun of some type, but with the country's current climate, Id like to carry as well (Oklahoma, has permitless carry laws to my understanding).
I'm assuming firearms and ammo are at a premium right now. If I had more funds at my disposal, I'd also sign up for classes and training as well.
Would you recommend a shotgun on the cheap for now for home defense in case someone, or someones kick my front door in? A budget handgun if Im out in public?
Thanks in advance for any advice or answers to my questions.
You DO REALIZE that a mask does NOT help you or keep YOU safe....it's primary function is to prevent you from infecting others.
Apparently I don't. Found this online
"Dr. Hamilton says a cloth mask will not prevent you from breathing in respiratory droplets that carry a virus, like COVID-19. But it will help to protect others from you if you happen to be infected, with or without symptoms. Furthermore, cloth masks help to reinforce social distancing and good cough etiquette, which ultimately will help to slow how far the virus spreads."
The few times I've been out in public since the pandemic started, I've been wearing a mask. I guess it doesn't matter, since no one around here for the most lart is wearing one...well damn...
I’d say you’re pretty darn safe in OK, but you answered your own questions. Shotgun for home right now, get a handgun for carry and get training on its use as soon as you can. Don’t know the laws in OK...can you get a gun secondhand? Training is fun, too. Maybe you know someone who is in law enforcement or ex-military or just very experienced who can train you for free. As for the mask, that’s the beauty of being a conservative. Everyone is free to do as they wish and desire, just don’t force it on me. You will be fine in your mask.
You may get comments for wearing a mask from people who don’t know your situation, but do what you feel you need to. If they’re willing to listen and you feel like it, explain that you’re in a really high risk category and what wouldn’t hurt others can hurt you. But it’s your call. Most patriots will just be happy that you’re supporting the president.
Get there early. Like really early. People are going to be dying to get in and driving in from all over the US
I’ll let someone else handle the gun question.
I don't know if the venue has been made public yet. Solid advice on getting there early. I have difficulty standing for an hour or more at a time, I may have to reconsider, I may not be able to stand in line for hours on end, I'll have to practice a bit in the coming days to see what my tolerance is. If I have to wait in line for more than 2 to 4 hours, it may just not be doable, which is a shame. The important thing is I vote in November! I just wanted to surround myself in an environment of like minded people for once. Its been awhile, since my family is out of town.
I think you’ll regret it if you don’t go. A lot of people at the rally I went to brought cheap outdoor chairs and just moved their chairs with them. You can’t bring them inside so everyone just left a giant pile of l chairs at the entrance when we went in, and if they get stolen, they get stolen.
If you can’t get there 8 to 10 hours early, you might be gambling getting in, but that’s OK. You will have spent a bunch of time with pro Trump people, and they will set up a giant projector outside for the overflow so you can see the shitposter-in-chief.
Last thing, write KAG2020 on your mask or something and that should be fine.
I havent considered cheap outdoor chairs as an option. Appreciate the input whether I make it in or not. Didnt know there was a giant projector! I'm learning so much, thanks to all who've replied so far, appreciate it!
American flag mask if you need one.
I dont think anyone will say anything, you do you. Dont worry about it.
Masks don't help you. They protect others if you are sick. In fact, if you are healthy, masks have the potential to capture particles containing viruses/bacteria, and hold them near your orifices to increase your chances of contacting.
Appreciate the link, shipping is 2 to 4 weeks which won't be in time. I could always get a sharpie or nail polish and put MAGA on my mask, I may go that route
Apologies Pede, I didn’t see the shipping time. MAGAfying one on your own is a good idea and would be well received. Stay safe and enjoy! 🙂
Make yourself one of these! haha People will get the point!

Fireams are precious right now so very limited. Go to local gun ranges and let the workers know you are looking to "legally" buy your first guns. Most will talk your ear off and some may even have one available from their personal stash.
I would hope in general, the firearms community would be kind to a complete noob. Im pretty intimidated to potentially walk into a shooting range/store for the first time and not be taken advantage of. My Dad was in the Army, and served in Korea. He would correct me every time I said "gun", and would say it's a side arm, or a rifle, or shotgun. He passed relatively early, and I've never said "gun" since my teenage years. I typically say sidearm, shotgun, rifle, pistol, etc. Ive never been in the military personally, Im not sure if it's taboo to say "gun", perhaps it's a military thing?
The only word I stay away from is "weapon." (NRA discourages this word use when we are teaching, especially if mommy is listening) Use of other words depends on context. When talking about sidearm, is it a revolver or semi auto pistol? Again, it depends on the specific degree of specificity required. "I'm going to shoot guns" means more than one type.
Specifically in military "guns" refers to unrifled firearms from pistols to mortars to howitzers and sometimes a certain part of a troop.
A "bullet" is the part of the round that goes downrange. The cartridge is the case, powder, primer and bullet as a happy group aka round.
This can go on forever and I am sure there are others that may not agree totally with my riff. That is okay. Chime in, we all frens here!
If you walk into a store and the person is a jerk, walk out. Find another store. Most are salesmen and welcome the opportunity to show their knowledge and try to figure out your needs.
