I could care less if they’re mentally stable and held to the same standard as other applicants. Somehow I doubt this is the case - but I only doubt it due to affirmative action type programs and diversity requirements, which is a shame. If they did not exist, there’d be no question regarding their qualifications and ability.

There's nearly a 50/50 chance of suicide among trans individuals. Not combat effective to be dead, it is mental illness and it doesn't belong in the military.

Totally. But there are outliers and if an individual had a psych exam and was fine, I’d judge on an individual basis.

The only equitable way to run a society is to treat people as individuals to be sure, but you can't be trans and mentally stable. Similarly, I would advocate against anyone in a leadership position having a mental illness. It's just not safe when the stakes are that high.
