I haven't worn a mask in weeks. Nobody but people working at certain businesses is wearing them, because the state government is holding guns to their heads in the form of taking away business permits and fines. But everyone else has said fuck it a long time ago.
Guys you need to move the fuck outta these places. I live in RED rural maine and no one gives a flying fuck whether you do or do not have a mask. Uncastrate yourself America this is insane. Leave the land of Karen and come to the land of freedom but leave your fucking voting at the door when you do.
Masks are mandatory here in Michigan but aside from Menards (never going back) stores aren't enforcing it.
I just walk on in and no one says a thing. I'm usually one of maybe 6 or 7 people not wearing a mask.
You know what's weird? I've done an experiment several times where I wear the mask down on my neck, not covering my nose or mouth at all, and I don't even get a sideways glance. But if I skip it altogether, people give me the stink eye. So dumb!
I see in the news stories of a second wave starting. Get ready boys and girls they will push again for more lock downs, gubmint checks and other shenanigans running (ie mail in voting) until steal time for the election.

With that being said, while I think this is a stupid over-use of force, they are a private company, they mandate masks, it is a decision made by corporate, and your friends are making low-level employees who probably don't even care but have zero power to change corporate policy have to deal with them.
This just makes your friends seem like assholes to me. Protest with your wallet and shop at a store that doesn't require them, imo.

While I agree the masks are stupid for most people, if you are on someone else's property you ought to respect their rules or leave.
Weird, I live in Northern California and for months I never used a mask in stores. I had no problem.
Most businesses will not press the issue I have found. Of the ones that do, one was a Wal Mart, and the rest were at least apologetic.
Unfortunately any public area is not changing for who knows how long.
They should have had 100 people with them not wearing masks, and stolen everything they could get their hands on. They would have been left alone.
The store in my town has a security guard outside in the front to prevent people from entering without a mask.
