My husband and I have been blessed enough to recently buy our first house that has a chunk of land attached to it. We've been able to get some goats, chickens, ducks, etc. to try to become more seIf-reliable. I honestly love it and feel much more fulfilled at the end of the day from working outside, taking care of the animals, and just enjoying the outdoors.
The funny thing about this is it turns more White men into innovators and creators. I've been taking time during the pandemic to work on projects I've been wanting to work on for years.
I picked up backpacking solo. Just spent two days in the wilderness. No SJW BS. No brainwashing. Peace and quiet. Read The Odyssey, skipped rocks, hiked, and watched a black bear do black bear things. Going back next week if the wife can stand me being gone.
