Hey Pedes, I may have the opportunity to accept a job in Kitsap County, Washington. I've never been, and I know about the dumpster fire in Seattle right now, but was wondering if there is anyone here that is familiar with the area and has an opinion about quality of life there. I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so I doubt it could be as bad as my current situation (still not allowed to work here), but I want to know what I'm getting into with this. Thanks.

It's nice, near the Olympics. You are separated by water from deeply crazy Seattle. The short days in winter and wet take some getting used to.

I am a resident. Doxx me fuckers!

Anyway, the area is slightly blue. Mostly government work at PSNS that dumps hundreds of millions into the local economy. Which makes us a bit recession proof. Great outdoor activities in Olympic National Park, the state parks have a $30 annual pass. Fishing, hiking, and water sports. Far enough from Seattle, although, I have seen many U-Hauls moving into the area. The school districts are really good and have been building new facilities. Mostly suburban and rural.

Spez: Washington is open carry, shall issue concealed pistol permits. At least we have that going for us.

Thanks, this is pretty much what I was looking for. Was not aware of the state park annual pass, that sounds like a pretty good deal.

The bad part, housing prices have gone up substantially in the last 5 years, usually leading the country. If you can buy, do it. If you need a real estate agent, message me. There are a lot of new homes being built.

I wont be able to buy for a while. If I get the job, I'll have to go ahead of my wife since her field involves being licensed by the state, where my licenses are federal. definitely going to have to rent for a few months at least.

Kitsap County kinda varies.

It's a lot like a "blue"state, where everything around the city is red, but the city is blue.

It includes Bainbridge Island which is packed full of Leftist millionaires, but it gets more mixed and red as you move away. Now these rich liberals will sure as fuck always vote Dem, but were damn quick in making sure homeless people can't take the Ferry from Seattle over.

Poulsbo/Kitsap which is just over the Bridge is very mixed. It has a very large small business community.

Bremerton is basically the high crime area.

This tiny picture was the best I could find that showed the whole county voting map. http://pugetsoundblogs.com/kitsap-caucus/files/2014/11/ccele-300x232.png

As an addition to the map, never expect the county to turn red even though it might look like it could. 27k vote for Trump in primary, 20k for Biden, but the total Dem votes was 61k. It never will. But currently it is a survivable blue area, but don't get too comfortable.

We get a huge influx of retired military that tries to cancel out the communists and hippies, but is isn't enough.

Especially since geographically it's rather isolated so people become complacent of the world around them. If the lockdown didn't change minds, some black people killing each other sure as hell won't in this area.

Braindamage Island is just Seattle West. Yes, mostly lefty millionaires and long-time hippies.
